LCMS Technical Sales Specialist

Exciting Opportunity for a MSc PhD educated scientist to join a leading company within the Analytical market as a Technical Sales Specialist.

Territory: South UK
Products:LC, LCMS(MS) & MALDI product range including the associated software packages.

Purpose of this Position:
The LC/LCMS Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for driving the continued growth of UK's Businesses, specifically ensuring customer success with LC, LCMS(MS) and MALDI products.

This will be achieved by gaining a deep insight into the LC/LCMS business in the assigned territory; establishing customer needs and potential challenges so that you can provide Excellence in Science when supporting customers across the territory.

As the Technical Sales Specialist position title implies, the role is primarily a sales role, whilst also
requiring a high level of technical expertise. The Technical Sales Specialist will manage the sales
process in LCMS(MS) and MALDI opportunities, from initial contact, determining customer
requirements, technical discussions within the demo process to the close of a project.

The Technical Sales Specialist will work closely and collaboratively with the Regional Business
Specialists and Technical Team, but retain overall control of the sales process throughout.

The Technical Sales Specialist will meet all company expectations to support excellence in science as well as providing a constructive, collaborative interface between field sales and technical colleagues, our customers, office colleagues and the UK LCMS Manager.

Scope of this Position:
· To achieve LC/LCMS & MALDI sales quota and funnel growth.
· To support the pre and post sales process to help the company achieve and exceed the sales targets for the LC/LCMS product lines, providing at all times an exceptional level of support, technical excellence and superior product knowledge.
· To present the company as the leading LC/LCMS & MALDI solution supplier at external meetings
· To maintain and grow a knowledge of competitor solutions and emerging applications, allowing
· identification and promotion of the unique selling points of our own solutions.
· Apply 'Excellence in Science' to all activities; have confidence to question perceived wisdom and
· procedures to help the company achieve and exceed the sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:
· Driving growth in the LCMS(MS) & MALDI business by managing the sales process in opportunities developed in the assigned territory, in cooperation with the Regional and Senior Business Specialists, from start to finish.
· Developing the Market Platform using consultative selling strategies with Key Opinion Leaders in target market areas. Demonstrating technical leadership in the marketplace to present the company as the LC/LCMS(MS) & MALDI vendor of choice in the UK.
· Take the LC, LCMS(MS) & MALDI tools which we manufacture and use them creatively to produce customer solutions. Presenting Product and Application specific information at external conferences/meetings.
· Attending product specific meetings and maintaining positive relationships with SEG support teams to maintain and grow technical knowledge of LC, LCMS(MS) & MALDI.
· Supporting the Sales Team in providing technically accurate and application appropriate quotations in a timely manner.
· Work with the Technical Team to plan and conduct high-quality, effective and memorable customer evaluations
· Complete technically correct, eye-catching and engaging content for customers, including tender submissions.
· Provide product and application specific sales training to the Sales Team.
· Make field visits to existing customers as well as prospective customers in order ensure customer success, following the DAPA consultative sales approach.
· Maintain a healthy sales funnel and up-to-date CRM database.

What we are looking for:
· Preference for candidates qualified to MSc or PhD level with a significant emphasis on chromatography
· Significant experience in chromatography and/or mass spectrometry may be accepted as an alternative to MSc or PhD
· Experience of selling capital equipment to industry and Academia
· Demonstrable deep understanding of the theory and practise of HPLC and UHPLC.
· Demonstrable understanding of Mass Spectrometry.
· Knowledge of MALDI mass spectrometry is useful, but not essential.
· Sound understanding of software systems.
· Sound understanding of validation procedures.
· Good awareness of competitor's hardware and software.
· Willingness to travel and spend a significant amount of time away from home.
