Laboratory Support Coordinator (Engineering)

We are currently recruiting for a Lab Support Coordinator Engineering - Primarily Bournemouth based, looking for their next step in their professional development to join a leading company within the healthcare industry.

We are inviting applications from engineering support backgrounds and with an ambition to develop their technical, commercial knowledge and skills.
This new position is a superb opportunity for the successful candidate to provide dedicated support to South coast hospitals when required. Based from Bournemouth, you will provide frontline support across a variety of analytical systems covering mostly technical engineering as well as application and IT support.


Scope of the role
· In this role, you will have a key responsibility in the organising and delivery of training and developing laboratory employees in the optimum use of our solutions, and ensure all staff records are maintained.
· Working with other experts you will be responsible for supporting and advising system configuration, reagent consumption, assay performance and on-going workflow and optimization studies.
· A key part of your role will be preventative maintenance, primary troubleshooting of hardware, software and supporting applications problems, taking ownership of on-going issues and acting as an escalation pathway and liaison point for any technical interventions.
· You would be required to participate in Technical Review and Quality meetings with all customer key stakeholders and overall provide an outstanding level of service delivery from Roche Diagnostics Limited.
· This is a field based position: covering south coast hospitals you would have technical responsibility for all laboratory sites within the group and will have the opportunity to support sites in the surrounding area.
· To be considered for this role, you must reside within reasonable daily travel distance for the customer sites.

Person Specification
· Electronics Engineering or Biomedical Engineering qualified, you will ideally have lab experience or field engineering working in or with a modern laboratory environment.
· To be successful in this role, you will need to be resilient, tenacious and both adaptable and flexible to work within an ever evolving environment. You will have some understanding of the barriers to acceptance of new solutions and be able to drive positive outcomes and drive project implementation.
· With a confident working approach, you have a strong desire to continually improve and be at the forefront of exciting new assays and techniques. Passionate to improve and shape successful patient outcomes, you will be able to deliver superior customer service to our customer base and excel in the art of troubleshooting, taking ownership and pride in your work.

Person Profile

You are an ambitious and motivated, qualified field service professional with experience of high-value capital equipment. You will ideally be qualified to an HNC/HND level or above in electronics. A relevant science subject would also be desirable.

You have good electro-mechanical systems knowledge gathered in any of these industries: biomedical engineering, industrial engineering, automation and aerospace, but to name a few.

Ideally, for the role, you will have field service experience in automated laboratory pathology systems or similar high tech equipment.

With proven customer service skills, you will combine a flexible approach with the positive determination to seize opportunities and resolve complex challenges through successful constructive resolutions.

You will possess a confident and collaborative working approach. You will excel in building productive customer relationships in a complex matrix environment.

Specifically, you will be able to demonstrate the following technical skills, knowledge and attributes:

Applies a logical and process-driven mindset driven & ability to manage personal time

Disciplined to deliver service support in line with service KPIs

Quick learner with innovative and continual improvement mind-set

Experience of "on-site" customer-facing engineering support

Proven track record of troubleshooting experience

Good working knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems and information technology

Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and remote diagnostic tools

A valid driver’s license and indefinite rights of working in the UK are required
