Laboratory Specialist

An exciting and unique job opportunity for a BSc degree educated scientist with post-degree laboratory experience to join an expanding organisation as a Laboratory Specialist.

If you are a Bsc educated scientist with a desire for a unique career path this is an exciting opportunity to apply your scientific knowledge and learn about the very rewarding field of laboratory design & delivery.

LOCATION: Mostly office based initially in Reading with potential to be in the field with customers.
CUSTOMERS: Life Science, AI, Space, and many other industries

Background:
- Someone who comes from a scientific background, who has an understanding of how a lab operates. On paper this would be a science graduate and somebody who has worked in a lab for a few years. They will meet lots of clients and look into buildings and specs and plans - So familiarity with a lab operation.
- Having that willingness to learn a new sector and field as we are quite different.
- Science degree, couple years in the lab (industry might be preferred as opposed to overly academic). We are quite commercial, it is quite pressurised and it is full on.

Responsibilities and function:
- User requirement documents management e.g., client questionnaires, room data sheets, project follow-up.
- Design co-ordination.
- Attendance to project and site meetings when required.
- Market research for scientific suppliers.
- Management of health and safety, regulatory compliance documents, internal database.
- Attending training courses when required.
- Attending networking events when required.
- liaising with the Bulb team during project design and delivery.

Role Requirements:
- Minimum of three years' experience of working in science laboratories.
- Interest in laboratory design, installation, and technical issues.
- Ability to search literature, suppliers, product details essential.
- Good computer, organisational and communication skills.
- An established scientific community network preferred.
- Degree level qualification in Life/Chemical/related Sciences.
- A full driving license.
