Exciting opportunity for a laboratory chemist to join a method development and technical support laboratory in Daresbury, near Runcorn, Cheshire.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Reporting to the UK Laboratory Manager
- Developing analytical chemistry applications for UK & Ireland customers, based on auto-titration, Karl Fischer, ion chromatography, spectroscopy & electrochemistry
- Hands on position working together as a small, close knit team
- Technical support/troubleshooting for current customers with the equipment, both by phone & by email
- Maintaining laboratory operations including preparation of stock/calibration solutions, tracking of equipment in the field, cleaning, preparing glassware for subsequent applications & assisting to maintain an active laboratory

The successful applicant will have:
- Prior laboratory experience
- Suitable backgrounds are a current scientist carrying out method development work or an experienced technician used to troubleshooting instruments
- A degree in chemistry (or a closely related disciplines) is essential.
- Any usage/knowledge of the companies equipment is a benefit, but non-essential.
- Ideal candidates will have a keen desire to lean and become an expert in their analytical techniques
- Other useful traits include good troubleshooting skills, will be able to organise & prioritise multiple tasks, have strong communication skills and will be methodical & trustworthy.
