Suitable for a scientist (ideally holding a PhD), with extensive molecular and cell biology experience who is seeking an opportunity to move into a customer-facing commercial application specialist role involving training, instrument demonstrations, installations and post sales maintenance and support!

The role involves travel to customer sites around 3 days per week with the remainder of time working from the company's office in Cambridge.

The company have a team of sales and marketing specialists that you will be working closely with. They have excellent quality, innovative products and a good market presence in the UK.

PRODUCTS: Cell and Molecular Biology Instrumentation
CUSTOMERS: Research & Academic laboratories
TERRITORY: Southern UK. (Must be based a commutable distance from Cambridge as when not travelling, you will be working from the office in Cambridge).
Key Responsibilities:
· Planning and holding demonstrations of the company's molecular and cell biology instrumentation, working with the field sales team to attend joint customer meetings.
· Ensure excellent customer service, instrument installations, repairs and continuous technical support.
· Transporting and installing demonstration equipment at customer sites or exhibitions.
· Telephone and email-based customer support, troubleshooting issues as efficiently as possible.
· Work with suppliers to facilitate the repairs of instrumentation when required and manage the stock of demonstration equipment.
Person Specification:
· A Masters or PhD qualification is preferred, and practical experience in molecular and cell biology and related areas. Experience in microscopy/imaging is a plus.
· Ability to understand customer's specific scientific needs and help with planning demonstrations.
· Excellent team-working skills and organizational skills, supporting the wider team when required.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
