Head of Trade, Category and Shopper Strategy


MAIN PRODUCTS: Sudocrem and Infacol

LOCATION: Harlow will be the main base, however there is flexibility for home working.

DIRECT REPORTS: 1 with immediate effect and the opportunity to develop a team in future.

The Head of Trade, Category & Shopper Strategy is responsible for the development and implementation of the trade, category & shopper strategy to enable the business to achieve its 5 year plans.

1. Creating, developing & implementing trade & category strategy by channel and customer for the Teva and PGT businesses in collaboration with the UK Sales and marketing heads across Teva & PGT Healthcare
2. Design, develop, and implementation of annual trade & category plans by channel/account to accelerate growth across the brand portfolio in line with the approved 5 year business plan and brand strategy
3. Collaborating with the UK sales and marketing heads to ensure that all sales & marketing is coordinated to create synergy instore, the business has the right distribution, facings & positioning in line with the approved sales and marketing strategy
4. Execute category management projects to optimise a large portfolio of retail brands and developing strategies to optimise the range and related merchandising
5. Liaise with and oversee the OTC analyst function in Commercial Excellence to generate the data required for category & shopper insights to translate into customer strategies which drive performance
6. Ownership of data procurement via CE to ensure the business has the necessary data from external data providers and key retailers to create brand theatre
7. Coordinate delivery of NPD into retail in line with key milestones in the 5 year plan
8. Support sales team in retail pricing strategy and execution of retail price increases in line with 5 year plan
9. Develop & execute in-store promotional strategy and provide ROI analysis to measure success and generate learnings for both Teva & PGT
10. Create, execute & roll out best in class POS materials for both Teva & PGT Healthcare businesses to ensure shopper activation delivers defined objectives
11. Forecasting Promotional and ATL uplifts in conjunction with sales and marketing
12. Coordinate AOP budget and latest estimate process in line with LRP and annual P&L
13. Fostering joint working and commercial synergy between Teva and PGT businesses to lead and develop delivery of synergies between PGT and Teva
14. Working cross functionally (RA, Commercial Excellence, Portfolio, Planning, Production, EMEA PMO, Sales & Marketing) to ensure OTC BU is represented, clear priorities exist and enhanced delivery
15. Review/report monthly activity & performance to the OTC Director in order to monitor account performance against all fiscal targets
16. Developing strong working relationships with buying, category & marketing and merchandising teams in key retailers
17. Ensure compliance and adherence to all relevant company SOPs within the UK marketing team

" Effectively managing the trade & category marketing of both business and allocating the required time and focus to ensure that both businesses achieve their goals
" Implementing challenging Trade & Category strategy to pursue aggressive brand growth in the UK market
" Category/trade execution re-positioning of the Sudocrem brand from its traditional position as a nappy rash brand to owning the medicated skin care space in-store
" Launching and driving new SKU's in line with brand segmentation strategy into retail in accordance with the trade marketing strategy
" Step-change quality and delivery of trade marketing materials across all brands to support the new brand strategy
