Location: European Headquarters in Chertsey, Surrey, UK.

Purpose of the position
To create, implement and manage programmes that:
" Communicate and engages internal and external stakeholders on Astellas' corporate values and vision
" Raise the corporate profile and the profile of the Company's portfolio to the Company's stakeholders.
" Supports change management where relevant

Core Tasks, Responsibilities & Authority
To develop robust communications programmes that
" align with the corporate vision & strategy
" supports the profile and reputation of the organisation with both internal and external stakeholder.
" Drives engagement from key stakeholders

The individual appointed will be required to:
" Create programmes and opportunities that engage key external stakeholders, such as the media and that will seek to and identify appropriate opportunities that support the communications objectives.
" Prepare and maintain written materials such as messaging materials, Q+A documents, media backgrounders, and corporate fact sheets Project manage large scale multi-faceted stakeholder projects and programmes, managing multiple internal and external stakeholders, including third party agencies, working to tight timelines, ensuring timely delivery that is on budget.

" If requested, provide crisis management counsel to key internal stakeholders should an issue occur.
" Develop reactive and proactive communications materials to effectively manage issues before they escalate.

" The appointed individual will be asked to develop a robust change-management communications strategy that supports the implementation of a new European-wide intranet system. As part of this, the appointed individual will
- Work cross functionally to gain buy-in to the proposed programme of communications and activities.
- Ensures the programme informs as well as manages the expectations of stakeholders pre-launch
- Manages multiple stakeholders and consultations as required to ensure the programme effectively drives employees to change their current working approaches and encourages behaviour changes that maximise the capabilities of the new intranet system and how it is utilised.
Internal publications and communications
" Work with the wider Communications team to develop and edit stories for internal publications and microsites, managing timelines and legal approval of content
" Maintains relevant sections of the Astellas intranet
" Supports CEO communications and materials which communicate the company strategy, vision and direction to employees
The appointed individual will:
" Understand how to manage and juggle multiple programmes and priorities.
" Work cross functionally (and internationally) with key internal stakeholders at APEL and with affiliates and other regions to achieve appropriate approvals of materials and manage issues that may occur with the process autonomously
" Ensuring a consistent and solutions-orientated approach; as large scale initiative can present challenges, its important the individual can manage these professionally taking a customer orientated approach.
" Take ownership in supporting and facilitating affiliate communications to ensure local success of PR programmes and internal initiatives rolled out centrally. The individual will organise regular 1:1 briefing calls and teleconferences to
o update affiliates and engage them in the European programmes being implemented.
" Benchmark and measure existing and new communications activities implemented and review how these can be improved upon.
" Contribute towards the development of agency briefs / proposals and issues documents to support the department's objectives and outputs
" Work with appointed external agencies to ensure they deliver on agreed outputs for live projects, on budget and within specified timelines
" Review and disseminate relevant media coverage daily with relevant internal (and in some instances external) stakeholders
" Ensure Gant charts and planning materials are developed to support planning of internal and external resources (and time) for mid and longer term projects. They will also ensure weekly work in progress documents are kept up to date for weekly meetings and team updates
" Proactively keep informed and up-to-date on the relevant industry codes of compliance and all related updates
