Field Service Engineer - Microscopy (SEM)

A global company are seeking a Microscopy Field Service Engineer to join their team in the UK, to support our users of electron microscopes across the UK and Ireland.

You will be focused on our Scanning Electron Microscopy products (SEM) and the Main Tasks & Responsibilities are:
Provide preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment and its associated ancillaries
Perform repairs, troubleshooting, diagnostics, fault finding and calibration routines
Perform matching tests and set-ups
Complete equipment site surveys, installations and upgrades as necessary
Maintain customer site safety procedures and regulations
Maintain all associated administrative functions including paperwork, regular contact, updates etc.
Attend customer meetings if required
Provide basic operational training for customers
Provision of on call support, if required
Provide technical support for customers, service agents and other engineers
This job will entail extensive travel and overnight stays

What is needed:
Problem solving and diagnostic skills
Ability to work in a methodical and detailed manner
Mechanical skills on delicate assemblies
Experience with PC controlled systems
Good electronic skills with the ability to fault find to component level
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree or HND level in electronic engineering or a related subject.

The following experience would also be advantageous:
Experience with vacuum, electron optics and working with high voltages
Experience in a customer oriented environment

Basic salary up to £35,000 per annum
