Contract Field-based Brand Manager
The successful candidate will report to the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (UK and RoI) Global Brands Business Unit Manager (BUM), with the task (in line with the HQ strategic input) to implement, manage and develop marketing activities locally for the Global Brands Franchise. There will be a strong focus on Orfadin generic strategy in this role, but the candidate will also need to display innovative ways of working to continue to grow the sales of Kineret.
The successful candidate must be both a conductor and player, actively supporting the commercial team in this field and working closely with the BUM to ensure implementation of the 2017 brand plans. It will be the responsibility of the position holder to work closely with Medical to help develop the presence and recognition of Sobi as a credible partner within the Global Brands community in the UK & RoI through supporting the development of relationships with key stakeholders, as well as the successful development and delivery of agreed marketing projects. The role will involve some liaison with the Sobi Global marketing & medical teams as required and be required to represent the UK &RoI Affiliate in Global Brand meetings. The position holder will also be expected to be able to travel within the UK & RoI as well as to other international destinations in the line of usual business activities.
TITLE: 6-month contract, Field-based Brand Manager / Project Manager
LOCATION: Majority Field Based role, requirement to go to Head office once per week.
STATUS: 6-month contract, ideally 3-4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
The immediate priority is to implement a successful generic strategy plan for Orfadin. However, this is not a desk based marketing role. It is a dynamic role requiring passion, enthusiasm and an unrelenting focus on the needs of patients and the success of the overall Sobi Global Brands team in protecting and growing its current business.
Under the direction of the BUM UK & RoI, Global Brands, the candidate will work with local medical and patient access colleagues as well as HQ staff in a cross functional approach to Sobi's interactions with all stakeholders (physicians, payers, nurses and patients).
Job Description
" Drive excellent tactical delivery of the UK and RoI business plans, bringing innovative patient and customer centered thinking to both the Inherited Metabolic Disease and Auto-inflammatory disease communities for Sobi.
" Provide monitoring and feedback about local commercialisation needs, issues into local strategy development and create through excellent levels of trust and communication with local and global team members.
" Identify and assess market opportunities and decide on tactics in collaboration with the local team in order to maximize on the business opportunity
" Develop strategic communications and/or training materials for internal and external customers on current projects and tactics, working with Medical colleagues to ensure the highest level of scientific credibility in all Sobi external communications.
" Support UK and RoI Global Brands engagements and involvement in local events, conferences and initiatives, and be active in supporting key account needs identified by each KAM.
" Measure value, impact, and return on investment of their commercial campaigns and ensure effective use of UK & Ireland marketing budget, showing excellent overall control of OPEX and management of vendors.
" Work in tight collaboration to manage and support agreed projects from Headquarters, travelling to Stockholm or elsewhere as needed to ensure alignment.
" Collaborate with BUM Global Brands to define and deliver the overall marketing strategy, ensuring local customer needs and market requirements are included in the development of Sobi global strategy.
" Spend 20-40% of work time in the field supporting business activities and interacting with key customers. Required at least 1 day per week in the office.
Key Competencies
Essential:
" University Degree level or equivalent education
-healthcare/ medical / science based educational background is highly preferable
" Previous pharmaceutical commercial and marketing experience
" Experience with end of lifecycle products, launch of line extensions and involvement within generic strategy plans
"
Desirable:
" Experience within rare diseases in marketing or sales roles is highly desirable.
" Previous relevant roles within Immunology and/or Rheumatology advantageous
" Excellent working knowledge of ABPI code of practice and implementation in pharmaceutical sales and marketing projects
" Experience working in an international matrix environment with multicultural colleagues
" Knowledge of the UK & Ireland health systems and decision making processes. Understanding of specialised commissioning.
" Fluent in English; both verbal and written
" Excellent IT skills, including Excel and Powerpoint. Use and knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems in pharmaceuticals would be an advantage.
