Contracts Excellence Manager
Proactively and continuously raises the bar on capabilities (messages, tools & processes) to support the influencing of the DH/NHS contracting & procurement environment, with novel and differentiating approaches to optimize product positioning on tenders and to ensure optimal patient access to AbbVie medicines.
TITLE: Contracts Excellence Manager
LOCATION: Maidenhead, Berkshire
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contracts & Pricing Raise the Bar for capabilities:
- Build capabilities across the organisation to ensure Government Affairs, Brand Teams, Market Access and Infield Teams are aligned in our shaping and implementation of objectives to optimize the brand opportunities within tenders in an environment of cost containment
- Project Management and implementation of the Contracts Excellence work streams to ensure AbbVie is fit for the future, reviewing current tools, processes and capabilities and assessing for improvement
- Build fit for purpose tools, in conjunction with the Business Information, CRM, Sales Force Excellence and training teams, which assist brand teams and in-field teams in providing contract region & local information, stakeholder engagement and intelligence feedback.
- Management of the tender database and horizon management, including planning for brand loss of exclusivity
- Assist in the co-ordination of bid submission presentations
- Document the results of all past tenders, including outcomes for both AbbVie brands and relevant competitors to create an additional database resource to guide decision making on tenders.
- Assist in the project management of pricing initiatives and patient access schemes and in support of biotherapeutics procurement activity planning
External Focus/ Messaging:
- Support the Contracts & Pricing team, and the wider Market Access department in navigating the & NHS Procurement environment
- Build above the brand messages & abridged brand value propositions to influence NHS & DH good procurement practice, focusing on patient outcomes, value for money, and a fostering of the uptake of innovation, whilst ensuring clinician and patient choice.
- Build above the brand messages that influence DH and NHS procurement in a cost containment environment, combating the threat of procurement led therapeutic rationalization in the face of complex biosimilars and generic competition
Drive Cultural Change
- Define clear roles & responsibilities within the wider organisation to meet the Contracts Excellence objectives
- Matrix work to ensure successful implementation of new tools and processes.
- Ensure robust regular feedback & control mechanisms are in place with both internal and external stakeholders for improvement, and benchmark knowledge and cultural change
- KPI generation based on quality outcomes for continuous improvement
- Plan and co-ordinate war gaming and boot camp exercises to assist in engagement planning
- Establish Contracts & Pricing team competency framework, and work with sales force excellence to ensure appropriate competencies for in-field teams.
- Deliver all other projects & tasks as appropriately set by the Commercial Manager to support the Contracts & Pricing team’s objectives
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree level or degree calibre
- A further education marketing qualification, such as CIM would be an advantage
- Excellent Project Management skills with attention to detail. A project management qualification would be an advantage
- Good understanding of tendering and contracting processes within the NHS
A good understanding of the principles of PPRS and patient access schemes
