We are looking for a Veterinary Research Sales Specialist. This role is home office based, requires field travel, with office resources in Ludwigsburg, Germany and is responsible for France, Switzerland and Germany.

JOB SUMMARY:

Combination of outside Sales responsibilities impacting revenue and IDEXX brand awareness of the clinical and preclinical business, support to develop marketing materials to support sales efforts of new and existing service offerings. Facilitate IDEXX Clinical and preclinical Services offerings at trade shows and business meetings. Streamline sales processes, offerings, and systems for areas of improvement. Assist Sales Manager and Business Development Manager in developing new service offerings. Directly assist, oversee, and engage in the sales process and lab liaison role for large/complex multi-sites clinical studies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales responsibilities impacting total revenue of the Veterinary Clinical and Research Services - clinical and preclinical studies
Work closely with IDEXX Sales Manager and Business Development Manager to achieve targets
Assist sales team in developing new service offerings. Identify gaps in product (test) offering and suggest development and marketing plan for these “new products”.
Support marketing materials to support sales efforts of new and existing service offerings.
Directly assist, oversee and engage in the sales process for large/complex, long-term/multiple-time point studies requiring special instructions/pathologist evaluation criteria and/or customization of test codes, submissions forms, etc. Review data with customers and facilitate a customer dialog with our veterinary and analytical experts as needed.
Advisor and central point of contact for sales reps and Customers with questions on product features, as needed. Assist customers with questions of a technical nature concerning lab services and instrumentation, as needed.
Attend and facilitate trade shows marketing IDEXX Veterinary Research Services. Deliver seminar-type presentations to individuals or groups of potential and existing customers on our complete range of offerings and services. Coordinate and drive educational seminars in Key Strategic areas.
Research and communicate competitive intelligence on competition pricing and other competitive issues. Participate in business reviews, presenting financial models, cost justification, and comparison and market feedback.
Achieve and maintain medical & technical knowledge and verbal fluency of industry and IDEXX products and services.
Present IDEXX values to customers in a professional manner; including understanding the industry, customers, technology, operations, and processes.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
B.S. Biology, Chemistry or other Life Science Related Field; or an equivalent combination of significant and relevant education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience with key market leaders in veterinary clinical and pre-clinical area preferred.
Laboratory and/or clinical experience in life science research preferred.
Previous outside sales experience preferred.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and understanding of veterinary clinical and preclinical research study life cycles and diagnostic laboratory services (GLP/GCP compliant)
Knowledge of veterinary industry and/or veterinary diagnostics preferred.
Languages: French and English are preferred, any additional language will be an advantage
Able to travel across EMEA to visit clients and IDEXX internal lab (Germany)
Strong project management skills; ability to oversee and manage projects and studies.
Strong presentation, business, oral and written communication skills.
Detailed and organized with the ability to multi-task.
Ability to understand customer needs and develop customer specific solutions.
Strong collaboration & teamwork skills.
Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build strong customer relationships, and build outstanding relationships with customers & colleagues.
Knowledge of the sales process and sales techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint,

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Some travel required. May include overnight travel.
Some weekend work may be necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position involves a potential for exposure to chemical and biological agents known to cause disease in humans, radioactive materials and use of hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29CFR).
