TITLE: Product Manager

LOCATION: Hurley, Berkshire

DIVISON: Dermatology Division

To provide an accurate and realistic forecast of sales/ stock for given product(s) and to have overall responsibility for project management of reports
•Assess robustness of forecast model for all relevant products
•Populate models and present scenarios with assumptions
•Gain agreement on forecast(s) by BUM
•Monitor sales against forecast, decide appropriate action and implement
•Monitor demand of Stock Levels ensuring optimal stock is held, the shelf life is acceptable; and implement regulatory changes

To formulate and deliver the Business Plan to maximise sales with given resources Endorsement of product strategy as part of Business Planning process
•Identification of appropriate key drivers (incorporating market research, internal and external stakeholders etc)
•Appropriate utilisation of resource behind key drivers (incorporating field force, product spend, clinical trial spend, time allocation)
•Develop and monitor product KPIs
•Current knowledge of NHS/regulatory/Governmental environment
•External environment managed by attendance at customer meetings and regular liaison with key customers, in accordance with the Key Account Plan

To identify, plan and deliver all tactical programmes to achieve product strategy
•Tactical programmes all strategically aligned (ie supporting key drivers)
•Integrated and appropriate marketing mix ( ie. variety of communication channels utilised in a co-ordinated manner eg. Sales force/ PR/ KOLs/ Advertising/ meeting programme etc)
•Ongoing appraisal of success, or otherwise, of tactical programmes (eg. Sales force/customer feedback, market research etc)
•Financial management and monitoring of allocated product spend

To make resourcing decisions within existing constraints regarding product tactical programme
•Budget justification/allocation
•Actual spend versus budget
•Forecasting of sales by quarter to be completed accurately and within timelines

To achieve the agreed objectives for the product(s), choosing appropriate action based on progress reports against budget, sales, KPIs
•Quarterly submissions of year end sales and spend
•Budgeted/ target sales forecast
•Market Share/ patient penetration
•% growth
•KPIs" Be aware of product sales and other promotional warehouse processes.
Budgetary Control
" Prepare an annual budget for the product range for which you have responsibility.
" Ensure that all activities undertaken are kept within budgetary limits.
Relationship Management
" Attend group marketing meetings in Denmark or other countries as required.
" Liaise with Medical Consultants, GPs and Nurses within the therapeutic area to keep abreast of current opinion leaders.
" Facilitate two-way communication with Sales Force Management and Sales Force to ensure understanding of the promotional mix and buy-in to the calibre and effect of promotional campaigns.
" Liaise with Advertising, PR and AV companies to ensure timely and accurate delivery of promotional and advertising material.
Personal Development
" Ensure that product knowledge is current by keeping abreast of all developments within the therapeutic area.
" Ensure that professional development is maintained.
" Ensure that personal development is maintained by on the job training and relevant external courses or qualifications as determined with your line manager.
" Ensure that IT skills are maintained and be familiar with all software/information systems available within the Sales/Marketing and Market Research Departments.
" Mentor and coach product managers and other members of the marketing department.

Person Profile

Professional competencies:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
in Pharma Industry
Proven experience as a Product Manager in UK Pharma Industry.



Interview Process

2 stage process. First stage interview with the first line manager for the role. The second stage is usually at Head Office and involves a panel interview and presentation.
