Medical Information Officer
TITLE: Medical Information Officer
STATUS: 3 month contract but likely to be longer
LOCATION: Hurley, Berkshire
ROLE TASKS:
To answer queries from external sources relating to LEO products.
2.To answer queries from internal sources relating to LEO products and competitors.
3.To assist in the maintenance and update of an internal database of technical information related to LEO products.
4.To handle Pharmacovigilance issues relating to reporting of spontaneous adverse events.
5.To assist Head of Medical Information and Pharmacovigilance and Medical Information Executives as required in the day to day activities, project work, clinical paper summaries and copy approval.
JOB TASKS:
To become fully conversant with PIPA UK Guidelines on Standards for Medical Information Departments and internal Standard Operation Procedures/Work Instructions.
1.Answer enquiries on LEO products from external sources (including hospital doctors, GPs, pharmacists, other health professionals and patients) received by telephone, in writing or electronically. This to be achieved by using internal and appropriate external resources.
2.Answer enquiries on LEO products and competitor products from Sales Representatives, Marketing and Medical Departments (both in UK and from LEO Group) received by telephone, in writing or electronically. This to be achieved by using internal and appropriate external resources.
3.Maintain and update an internal database of standard letters and questions and answers using information from internal and external sources.
4.Assist Medical Information personnel in activities such as clinical paper summaries, copy approval when appropriate and in line with Departmental standards.
PHARMACOVIGILANCE
5.Ensure adequate reporting of adverse events to UK Pharmacovigilance Department, via the Medical Information Enquiry Database.
6.To be fully conversant with LEO SOPs and policy regarding Pharmacovigilance and to be aware of the internal and local legal requirements for Pharmacovigilance.
7.Any other duties, as required by the Medical Information Department.
