TITLE: Business Intelligence Executive UK & IE

LOCATION: Hurley, Berkshire

REPORTING TO: Business Intelligence Manager

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
To provide a complete range of Business Intelligence, marketing and sales information required for the efficient planning, organisa-tion, control and success of the sales and marketing function in LEO UK/IE.

The Business Intelligence Executive will be required to spend 75-80% of their time focused on partnering with the Thrombosis Sales and Marketing function, the remaining time will be spent supporting other BI personnel with regards to Dermatology BI as required.

ROLE TASKS:
Weighted responsibilities for the role are:
Analytics - 25%
Strategic Market insight - 60%
Market research and secondary data management - 10%
Short and long term forecasting support - 5%

Analytics –
•Ownership of Data warehouse management – ensure timely delivery of Thrombosis data to data warehouse provider
•Sub-national data reporting and analytical support to aid
Customer Targeting
Sales force sales targets
CRM Analytics

•Creation of business focused data analysis
•Innovation of data reporting techniques
•Creation of monthly Market Insight Audits followed by monthly presentation to Thrombosis sales and marketing teams
•Create and manage Thrombosis sales team territories
•Work with external data providers to safeguard data accuracy

Market Insight –
•Work closely with respective brand teams to ensure market insight activities are aligned with Boost plans (annual marketing plans)
•Delivery of concise monthly insight report containing consolidated sales, market research insights, competitive intelligence and KPI metrics
•Market Research plans that align with yearly boost plans and ad-hoc requirements
•Be a key member within brand XFT and add value through expert knowledge of therapy area
•Maintain network of Market Research agency contacts
•Provide insight on events and assumptions to Head of BI to aid accurate forecasting

MR and Vendor Project Management
•Work with MR agencies to manage projects from RFP to delivery in line with brand team requirements
•Zinc approval of MR materials
•Ensure secondary data provision is relevant and adds value to the therapy area

Forecasting
•Work closely with Head of BI to capture data required to create accurate forecasts on both a quarterly and annual basis
•Identify data gaps and work with Head of BI to fill gaps or to create assumptions

Other Job Tasks

Provide regular, informal updates to Head of Business Intelligence containing latest sales vs. target metrics, market insights and competitive intelligence for the Thrombosis area

Incorporate all available data sources (IMS, CSD patient data, Wholesaler and Ex-factory) into monthly/weekly reports.

Agree with sales and marketing which metrics should be used to monitor specific projects and ensure these are reported regularly

Requirement to undertake other reasonable tasks or activities which are within the capabilities of the role & as required.

Person Profile

Degree level or higher level qualification in Life sciences or Business preferred. Other relevant qualifications will be considered.
- At least 2 years' work experience in quantitative market research or a marketing information/business intelligence role gained in either a pharmaceutical or medical device company or with information pro-viders/agencies working with pharmaceutical/medical device companies.
- Other background experience will be considered if felt relevant to this role.
- Knowledge and experience of market research methodologies
- Strong numerical/ analytical background
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage an annual primary research plan as well as handling on-going and impromptu requests/ ad-hoc analysis needs
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and urgent demands with a pro-active and flexible attitude
- Strong team player qualities
- Both strategic thinker and tactical, energetic, active and adaptable
- Pro-active, independent, high level of initiative
- Confident, with courage of own convictions and good influencing skills
- Strong MS Excel skills and proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint

N.B. Travel and overnight stays will be required however not on a regular basis, therefore a full clean driving licence and ability to travel is favourable
