TITLE: Senior Scientific Advisor / Medical Marketing x 2

LOCATION: Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire

REPORTING TO: Senior Medical Advisor / Head of Medical Marketing

OBJECTIVES:
" This position ensures the effectiveness of the medical-marketing function within the medical affairs department

" This position provides scientific and data product support to GRT UK staff and external customers in order to achieve the company's goals

" This position also project leads and is responsible for development of specific product promotional support programmes to be delivered by promotional staff

" This position project leads the provision of non-promotional Medical Education, this also includes the overview of Medical/Scientific Advisory Boards, and key clinical opinion leader relationship management for Grünenthal (GRT)

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
" Provide expert scientific and data analysis support on GRT products and competitors, in line with GRT UK strategy. Informing and supporting GRT UK departments, including medical, marketing, market access and sales. This includes support of material development and generation, GRT UK staff training and presentations on data

o Provide support for the MSL team
o Support the Head of Health Outcomes with producing value proposition for GRT products at Health Technology Appraisal (HTA) level
o Provide support for key opinion leaders
o Identify potential trialists and evaluate the scientific validity of research proposals (clinical trials and audits). This excludes the setting up and running of such research

" Promotional support programmes: Develop projects that supply expert and robust medical/scientific data on educational material and GRT products to be delivered by promotional staff to external health professionals

" Deliver Medical Education (as Medical and Educational Goods and Services (MEGS)): Deliver non-promotional materials and activities for external health professionals on topics relevant to the GRT UK business

" Co-ordination of Advisory Boards: Establish the validity of and support the running of appropriate Advisory Boards

" Key clinical opinion leader relationships: Lead and co-lead on identifying and ensuring that appropriate professional relationships are established and maintained with relevant key clinical opinion leaders (excluding those non-clinical aspects related to Market Access and of a Political / Governmental nature)

" Ensure company compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and the relevant MHRA Guide by participation in the data review process

" Maintain relevant scientific and medical knowledge by attending conferences, courses and meetings

" Work will be full time office-based but will also require out of office meetings with external customers. Travel, including overseas, will be needed

Person Profile

" A relevant scientific/medical university degree/qualification is required
" Experience in interpreting and presenting both pre-clinical and clinical data to academics and clinical key opinion leaders/trialists
" Experienced in clinical trial methodology, presenting clinical trials data, and an appreciation of statistical analysis methods
" Experience in the support of HTAs or formulary applications (data input and/or writing reports)
" Experience of a Medical Affairs environment in a UK pharmaceutical company/affiliate, including marketing and sales functions
" Pharmaceutical company experience of working with key opinion leaders
" Knowledge of UK medical practice, including NHS structure and patient pathways, and medical political issues
" Experience of the practical implementation of the "ABPI Code"
" Interest / experience of working with devices would be desirable
