Commercial Manager

Head Office: Lincolnshire

Ideal would be within 2 hours of Lincoln - attend office 2 days a week

Part of leadership team but no direct reports

Role Purpose
To increase ex-factory sales income and grow the profitability of Tillotts Pharma UK Ltd by facilitating robust commercial contracts and relationships with procurement organizations of the NHS, Pharmaceutical Wholesaler organizations and private health sector firms (including: Boots and other pharmacy chains, short-line wholesalers, main-line wholesalers) in the UK.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for devising, developing and implementing commercial campaigns for Octasas Simtomax and other Tillotts brands / products as agreed with the General Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing commercial strategy and delivering operational activity to remove barriers to markets and supply chain organizations including:
" Pharmaceutical wholesalers
o Pre-wholesaler
o Full Line Wholesalers
o Short-line wholesalers
o Pharmacy chains in-house wholesale service
o Trade organizations
" Dispensing Doctors organizations
" NHS trusts
" Private sector hospitals and clinics
" Key retailers, such as but not exclusively
o Boots
o Lloyds
o Rowlands
o Multiple Independents
Completing and submitting tenders to supply:
" Public sector
o organizations of the NHS
o prisons
o Military
" private sector
o BUPA and other Private Medical Insurance organizations
o Private Hospitals

Commercial Marketing Responsibilities
The Commercial Product Manager is responsible for developing commercial promotional materials:
" Commercial literature and advertising
" Commercial campaigns and communications
" Market research


Key external stakeholders are:
" NHS procurement
" Pharmacy chains procurement
" Purchasing Agencies
" Wholesalers
" Pharmaceutical products buyers

Breadth of responsibilities
The Commercial product Manager is an integral part of the Tillotts Pharma UK leadership and operations team, as such is expected to contribute to decision making that effects the organizations beyond the defined product responsibilities of the role. The role holder will agree strategic direction and operational plans with the General Manager and will be responsible for implementation of these plans including raising Purchase Orders (with prior agreement) to a maximum value of £10,000. There is no direct people management involved in this role, however as part of the leadership team the Commercial Manager will have shared responsibility with the National Sales Manager to ensure that the Tillotts Regional Account Managers and Hospital Territory Managers are appropriately trained to be the main point of contact with NHS Trust procurement pharmacists and community pharmacists.

Job Package

Basic salary negotiable depending on experience plus usual company benefits

Person Profile

Must have current or recent working experience of pharma supply chain - wholesalers, short lines, know organistions involved, know supply chain.
