Field Sales Manager

Based: England & Wales

Role Purpose:

Working within the Life Science Business Unit this role provides field based support and management for a team of 10 Area Sales managers across the territory of England and Wales selling into Laboratories and Hospitals. Extensive co-travel is expected with the ASMs working with them to develop their skills and application through coaching, training and motivation. Additionally, the following of Elga Process Water processes is key to ensure that accurate reporting and forecasting of the business is possible and completed in a timely manner. EPW has some critical business strategies defined and the role will need to work closely with the Sales Director and other senior Managers to ensure that the growth and profitability requirements of the business are met. Within the Life Science Business Unit there are key accounts and partnerships that require the development of relationships and joint strategies at a high level, this role will take a direct approach in this regard.

Key Responsibilities:

- Working with the field based Area Sales Managers (ASMs) in securing and developing new business and ensuring that existing customers are supported and managed in line with the direction and strategy of EPW. This will involve extensive travel with ASMs in the business unit, expected to be 80% of time available.
- This position is responsible for the profitability and expenditure of the Life Science Business Unit in line with the objectives of EPW.
- Working with the Sales Director, Marketing Director and other senior managers in determining and delivering the strategy for the Life Science BU.
- Ensuring that required EPW business processes are adhered to personally and by the direct line reports, in order that Life Science BU performance can be measured in line with the other BUs and in a timely manner. (e.g. CRM, Safe working practices)
- Recruiting and development of individuals within the team as required and in line with EPW processes, including the management of grievances and disputes.
- Monitoring, measuring and reporting on the performance of the Life Science BU.
- Direct management of Key customer relationships and development of Key Accounts and OEMs within the Life Science BU.
- Setting targets and implementing sales commission scheme to drive excellent sales performance to ensure EPW growth goals are achieved.
