Business development manager
Niche publisher and events company, PMGroup, has an opening for a Business Development Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for seeking out and developing new business with a consultative approach to selling, and enhancing relationships with existing clients in the healthcare sector in agencies, consultancies and biopharmaceutical companies.
You should be commercially astute and have excellent communication skills, with a proven record in generating significant revenues.
The ideal candidate is ambitious and keen to have genuine influence - helping to shape the growth of the business going forward in print, online and through events.
Key Responsibilities include:
Generating leads with aim of creating more sales and working on sales follow-up activities
Presenting to senior decision makers within client organisations (NBDs, MDs and CEOs) having research their requirements
Maintaining customer relationships and ensuring customer loyalty through excellent customer service as well as meeting all clients' needs appropriate to their business
Understanding and keeping up to date with developments in the healthcare industry and agency market
Identifying areas for expansion and development across the portfolio
Developing a targeted long-term new business strategy and foster growth in these key areas in the future
Create monthly forecasts on revenue/target management and end of month reports on revenue and market performance
Delivering against these targets to ensure revenue expectations are met
Working closely with other departments to develop bespoke campaigns to relevant prospects
Inputting into sales and marketing collateral - how the business positions itself for various audiences
Maximising networking opportunities and regularly using conferences, events and face-to-face meetings to increase awareness
Job Package

Person Profile
Key skills/requirements:
Minimum 2/3 years experience in a business development/new business or senior account management role (face-to-face experience imperative; experience within the healthcare media, marketing and communications desirable)
Strong track record of business-to-business sales
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Self-starter who is target-driven and motivated - must be comfortable in a target-oriented environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills (telephone, written and face-to-face)
Consultative sales skills: our audience is made up of agencies and blue chip healthcare organisations and requires a balance of soft sell approach and hard sell closure
Excellent time management, an individual who thrives on working autonomously
Experience working in a media environment and understanding of (and passion for) the healthcare industry.
Clean, full UK driving licence
The ideal candidate will be determined, outgoing, positive, articulate and diplomatic
Salary: competitive basic + commission
