This is a new opportunity for a Business Excellence Leader, to work within the Development Excellence organization, providing specialist expertise in innovation, business analysis, process improvement and change management to a world leader in drug development.

The role is a great opportunity for people with an internal management consultant skill set, to help drive the business performance of the global Product Development (PD) organization and bring more medicines to more patients .

The purpose of this role is to drive major Product Development business transformation projects and design, deliver, and implement performance improvement solutions . The Business Excellence Leader applies consulting and business improvement methodologies to ensure that projects deliver solutions that are effective fit for purpose and meet the needs of our senior stakeholders and customers.


Duties and responsibilities include:
Lead or manage major multifunctional business improvement projects that deliver lasting value to the Global Product Development Organisation, under the governance of the senior PD Leadership board
Deliver Development Excellence Consulting Services to the PD organization:- business analysis, project conceptulisation and scoping, project planning, management and delivery, team formation and performance development, solution design and change management.
Proactively identify, create and champion business cases for new improvement opportunities within the PD Organisation
Contribute to the creation of new, innovative Product Development management consulting service offerings by establishing and maintaining a collaborative network within the Roche pharma organisation and externally within the wider pharma industry.

About Development Excellence:

We are a global group of internal consultants working on Business Transformation Projects for the Senior Product Development Leadership Team, as well as offering Team Effectiveness support to our senior Molecule Development Teams. With our Team Effectiveness support we work with the Program Leaders to provide interventions, coaching and training to improve overall team performance and efficiency. Within Development Excellence opportunities exist for someone with the right skill set to work on both Business Transformation and Team Services projects.



Person Profile

We are looking for an experienced professional with a proven track record of leading/managing high impact business performance/process improvement and organizational change projects.

This would preferably have been gained through several years within drug development and/or through specialized Pharma Management Consulting assignments.

You are educated to a bachelors or advanced degree (BSc, MBA, Doctorate) in science and/or business with a solid grounding in business performance improvement methodologies including project conceptualization, situational analysis, solution design, implementation and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, excellent leadership and influencing skills are necessary with a proven track record of getting things done by mobilizing multifunctional teams.
You are a strategic thinker, able to see the bigger picture and demonstrate a critical, entrepreneurial, customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering lasting value to customers.

Excellent communication skills with experience of concise, impactful delivery to Senior Leardership as well as effective engagement with all levels of the organization, including the ability to make the complex appear simple, are essential.
