This is a senior level position for a strategic thinker and strong leader to drive and deliver the optimum healthcare strategy working with our Specialist Business Unit.

The role is part of the leadership team of the Healthcare Strategy Department which sits in the Communications and Healthcare Strategy Directorate. The department is made up of over 20 experts who work alongside the Roche Business Units and at a cross portfolio level. We identify shape and influence how Roche responds to commercial opportunities in a changing UK health environment with the ultimate vision of enabling every eligible patient to have access to Roche medicines. This senior role leads a small team working with our Speciality Care Business Unit which comprises of approximately 120 people covering a range of marketing and customer facing functions. The business unit is responsible for the success of on market brands in areas such as Rheumatoid Arthritis and Hepatitis and for pre-launch preparation in areas such as schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis, asthma, ulcerative colitis and acute coronary syndrome.

Underpinning the above, the core responsibilities of this role are as follows:

• To continuously improve and develop the strategic impact of Market Access on business results through effectively managing key business relationships, internal stakeholders within the matrix environment and senior market access KOLs

• High/advanced level advice on the direction and organisational capability for market access to support the Speciality Care Business unit

• To drive Market Access strategy and impact by ensuring plans, support and delivery meet business priority needs and fully exploit all relevant healthcare policy and environmental levers

• Ensure Healthcare Functional Leads and aligned Strategic Funding Managers deliver the highest quality expertise and level of engagement in support of their internal and external customers at a national and regional level

• To build an effective Specialist Healthcare Strategy Team which is well integrated with wider Healthcare Strategy Department and the business to meet current and future business requirements ensuring workload is appropriately allocated within the team (including self) and within the wider department

This position will be a head office based role

In order to be considered for this role the ideal qualifications and experience are as follows:

Senior healthcare experience - proven experience in shaping opportunities in the environment to deliver access and uptake of medicine)

Experience of identifying, combining and translating complex environmental and business drivers into clear and coherent strategies

Experienced in line management (field or office) in a pharmaceutical industry setting

Advanced knowledge of the NHS systems and process (funding flows, performance metrics)

Advanced networking and influencing skills at a senior level

Excellent communication, negotiation and team work skills

Substantial healthcare experience

Understanding of the HDM tools required in Market Access

Expert in ensuring code compliance in market access roles

Marketing or office based programme management experience

Evidence of success at a senior level working within a matrix management environment
