Senior Brand Manager (Maternity Cover)
9-MONTH MATERNITY COVER
LOCATION: Cambridge
REPORTING TO: Group Brand Manager
BROAD PURPOSE OF JOB:
1. To assume marketing responsibility for Targinact (oxycodone/naloxone), with the objective of maximising sales and profit.
2. To propose and initiate improvements to the Targinact strategic and tactical plans to meet changing market needs.
3. As a more senior marketeer, offer help and guidance to the analgesic marketing team through your expertise and knowledge. With specific management responsibility for the Assistant Brand Manager (Analgesics) and the brand administrator for Targinact.
4. To identify, in conjunction with the other members of the Marketing team and wider commercial team, new business opportunities for Targinact within the UK Pharmaceutical market.
B: SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and implement the marketing strategy for Targinact, including delivery of a strategic plan
2. Alongside the Assistant Brand Manager, develop the tactical plan for 2013
3. Monitor the implementation of strategic and tactical marketing plans, ensuring that stated objectives are met on schedule and within approved budgets.
4. Develop annual and five year forecasts. Work with the analytics team, to review, monitor and adapt forecasts as required.
5. Develop launch plans for new indications, line extensions and formulations.
6. Gather continuous intelligence on product performance, competitors and customer attitudes, proposing appropriate actions and amendments to the marketing plans throughout the year
7. Work cross-functionally with Sales & Marketing, Medical Research, Production, Medical, Medical Information, Analytics and Legal departments, to identify, initiate and monitor brand-related projects
8. Support the Assistant Brand Manager in the Analgesic team in their role of developing promotional materials from copy writing to production. Also, support the implementation of new campaign material and its use at Sales & Marketing meetings
9. Provide specific marketing information and support as required for sales training courses, Sales & Marketing meetings and for the development of agency briefs.
10. Develop and maintain contact with sales people and key customers through regular field contact, especially focusing on relationships with the Field Management Team.
11. To be fully conversant with all sales databases, regular product monitors provided by the analytics and SFE team. Working closely with analytics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and develop brand plans with ROI metrics.
12. To proactively maintain and update market knowledge with regard to both competitors and the NHS.
13. Maintain full accountability for the correct and effective management of all budgets associated with Targinact
14. To offer guidance and development to the Assistant Brand Manager for the analgesic team and the Targinact brand administrator.
15. Assist in the successful planning and running of both UK and International symposia.
16. Attend, support and present at European brand team meetings if required; contribute to cross-country collaboration and sharing of marketing best practice with MINT colleagues and European affiliates.
17. Lead the selection of agencies if required
18. Assist in the recruitment of administrative staff and secondments
19. Any other ad hoc project responsibilities as agreed with the Group Brand Manager
