Training Manager

JOB TITLE - Training Manager - In field Medical

Deliver training and development programmes in line with agreed training strategy for the UK medical affairs department

With the support and guidance from Head of Training, other Training Managers and Heads of Med Affairs:

Coordinate and run induction training for the UK Medical Affairs department, with a focus on in field medical functions. Produce and get approval as required for all supporting leaders guides and materials
• To develop, coordinate and run induction training programmes for the UK Medical Affairs department with a focus on in field medical functions, as well as to develop, coordinate and run ad hoc training programmes (such as presentation skills, pre- and post call planning, development of KOL engagement plans, in field working) to ensure all of the Medical Affairs team is up skilled in relevant competencies to perform optimally in an in field role. Produce and get approval as required for all supporting leaders guides and materials.
• Ensure best practices and ways of working are shared across the entire UK Medical Affairs team
• Work with Brand Team in the identification of behavioural training outcomes that will support brand plan execution
• Support growth planning for all scientific and medical advisers and work with other Training Managers and Head of Medical Affairs IPD, SPD and EPD to develop and deliver training identified
• Plan courses on a yearly basis, ensuring adherence to budget and deadlines
• Communicate and work with Head of Medical Affairs IPD, SPD and EPD with regards to performance appraisal of training course delegates
• Act as a point of contact with global Scientific Adviser team managers to ensure best in field working practices and ways of working are shared and implemented as appropriate
• Evaluate the positive transfer of training

Person Profile

Prior Training experience at Training Officer level.
ABPI exam or be willing to work towards this within 3 months of role commencement (If not already in Pharma role, or outside UK recruit)
Show potential to be innovative and creative in approach to both the design and delivery of training programs.
Possess Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Able to support and motivate individuals through challenging training programs.
Demonstrate good coaching and counseling skills.
Possess well-developed interpersonal skills and the adaptability to work cross-functionally within Abbott.
Able to plan and manage large training projects, and possess the drive to see projects through to completion. Able to demonstrate an ability to work well under pressure with a high degree of flexibility

Education Requirements
Appropriate scientific/medical qualification (e.g. Pharmacist, BSc, PhD) , Training qualifications would be helpful but not essential
