Job Title: Brand Communications & Patient Advocacy Manager

Reporting Into: Director of Communications and External Affairs: Oncology

Location: Surrey

This role sits within the Haematology franchise, a key area within Novartis Oncology. The Haematology franchise provides many patients with treatments to considerably enhance their quality of life, and improved ability to undertake day to day activities.

Reporting to the Head of Oncology Communications and External Affairs, this is a key role within the communications function and has the associated responsibilities:

" To lead communication programmes which will maximise the potential of the oncology brands
" Develop and execute effective communications strategies for the Oncology Business Unit
" Media handling excellence, responding to queries from both media and patient groups quickly and effectively
" To continue to drive a positive and differentiated image for Novartis through the pro-active development and management of key stakeholder groups
" To be the main point of contact for Public Relations and Communications agencies
" To lead the provision of in-house communications support
" To develop a strong knowledge of the brands, therapeutic areas and the market
" Work with the global branding teams, ensuring UK brand communications are aligned with the global strategy
" To lead the development of a pro-active media strategy
" To work closely with a peer who supports the Oncology franchise

Job Package

Competitive basic salary and benefits package on offer

inc car allowance £6800 per year
14% bonus

Person Profile

Candidates with comms experience from agency or pharma will be considered.

Applicants should have as a minimum:

" Degree level education
" Proven track record in a communications role
" Experience of working within the pharmaceutical industry, related healthcare or through agency or patient group work
" Proven track record in building cross-functional relationships to aid business performance
" Ability to build credible and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and media partners
