Business Development Manager
Title: Business Development Manager
Locations: Dorking Office (field based role)
OBJECTIVE: handle and develop non-traditional advertisers across the whole portfolio of products
PRODUCTS PORTFOLIO
The role will involve work across the whole portfolio where relevant- PM, PME, Communique, The Directory, the awards and PMLiVE.com It also involves bespoke projects which may be relevant to particular client needs - company profiles, White Papers, awards sponsership etc
KEY ACCOUNTS
There are some accounts already that will become part of this remit - others will be gained from new business. Management consultancies, lawyers, European groups etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
" Managing and selling to a group of existing accounts
" Developing new business from designated accounts
" Maintaining accurate database records of all activity

KNOWLEDGE
You need to keep up-to-date with all your clients, their market(s) and the industry sectors you work in.
SKILLS
Both excellent telephone and face-to-face sales skills are of paramount importance.
Presentations should be tailored to each client and delivered effectively.
Telephone calls should be the mainstay of your contact - e-mails being reserved for giving information only.
Time management skills are important too. Effective sales times should be adhered to where possible. Multiple visits are desirable where possible.
ATTITUDE
We work as a team and you need to demonstrate the ability to be a team player. An enthusiastic and positive attitude is ideal. At all times you are representing the company and therefore behaviour should be exemplary. Good timekeeping and high personal standards are all part of this.
