National Account Manager
National Account Manager - (Home based but will need to be in Horsham once a week)
Purpose of Role: - To establish, develop and implement a business plan strategy within the designated National Account base, which profitably achieves all value sales budget in line with the sector and company objectives
there will be a requirement for overnight stays
Financial Responsibility: -
Responsibility for Budget of £ Agreed annual budget by brand
Responsibility for Sales of £ 5 Million +
Skills :
1. Utilises specific customer information internally to influence business strategy. Keeps updated with current industry development themes and identifying how and if they should be incorporated into NCH. Understands the process of balanced scorecards.
2. Utilises multi-function teams to formulate proactive and reactive responses to changing market conditions. Co-opts and works with Category Management. Understands the supply and distribution chains to maximise both NCH opportunities and also profitability.
3. Confident in the construction and delivery of complex sales and negotiation presentations. Capable of delivering negotiations according to a pre-formulated plan. This may involve multiple member negotiation teams. Operates within broad guidelines rather than precise and prescriptive negotiation parameters, however equally able to say NO!
4. Highly visible and raises own and Novartis Consumer Health profiles. Builds added value and sustained relationships with Accounts. Has peer group respect
5. Is proactive in suggesting either increases or decreases in spend based on results. Undertakes detailed evaluation of each promotion. Sets clear objectives (short/long term). Has a clear understanding of why agreements are in place, the history of payments, the cost of Novartis Consumer Health and a plan of discontinuation. Maintains all aspects of gross margin. Works proactively to evaluate impact of proposed changes to margin and spend.
6. Position is responsible for providing category and strategic leadership to the customer.

Person Profile
Strong analytical, negotiation, planning and selling skills
3 years experience in selling within healthcare/FMCG including 18 months minimum in key / national accounts
Graduate calibre
PAGB qualified
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
Awareness of category management principles.
