Inventory Manager

Do you have a strong inventory management background and have experience with Purchasing/Procurement?

Our client is a VMD-approved hybrid veterinary wholesaler with particular expertise in sourcing and supplying imported or hard-to-find products for veterinary clinics.

They seek an Inventory Manager to oversee the purchasing and ordering of goods and services, relating to the procurement of finished goods for resale out of the wholesale warehouse, based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - You will:

- Liaise with vendors on product pricing, product availability and expediting of purchase orders to the vendors.
- Load of all supplier invoices on to the ERP system
- Ensuring vendors have supplied stock and invoiced at the correct agreed prices.
- Check goods received against a valid shipping document and supplier invoice.
- Be aware of the changes in order and supply from the EU into the UK and to keep up to date with any amendments that affect this process.
- Manage any stock marked for disposal, due to damage or expiry.
- Be involved in producing, implementing and controlling any policies or procedures required for the efficient management of the warehouse, ensuring all staff are trained in all policies and procedures and to keep a record of all training documents.
Our client seek someone who:
- Can build effective working relationships with the teams, both internal and external. Effective communication skills needed for line management responsibilities and the effective implementation of all policies and procedures.
- Has a background or understanding of working in diverse team, ensuring customer focus and support to the sales team is paramount.
Candidate Background:
- Experience in a medical environment (human or veterinary) would be advantageous. We would consider someone with a strong inventory management background, but would also consider those from a pharmacy, veterinary, pharmacy technician, vet nurse or veterinary technician background who meet the requirements.
- An understanding and grasp of GDPR regulation would be advantageous
