In-house Service Engineer

We have an exciting new opportunity to join an international leader of a range of scientific and laboratory products as an In-house Service Engineer at their offices in Stone, Staffordshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the service and repair of a varied range of bench top products and equipment used in laboratory environments and applications.
Delivering excellent service levels and applying a customer centric approach to the end-user, you will have a 'can do' approach to problem solving with a goal of achieving a first time fix in all repair circumstances to ensure completion of the daily schedule.
· To ensure you are always working safely on and around live electrical equipment
· To work systematically through problems to an affective resolution
· To demonstration strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers, both written and on the phone.
· Able to work quickly and to a high standard of workmanship and safety
· To be a great team player

Person Specification:
· Previous experience in the repair, service and testing of a wide range of electronic and electro-mechanical products
· Understanding of equipment calibration principles
· Competent in the use of a range of electronic test equipment
· Hands on approach and comfortable working with mains powered devices
· Good mechanical skill and attention to detail
· Good wiring skills including wire preparation, crimp termination and soldering
· Excellent fault-finding skills
· Understanding of electrical safety testing (for example, PAT testing)
· Knowledge of common laboratory equipment would be an advantage but not essential
· Knowledge of optical systems would be an advantage but not essential
