Head of Business Development - Diagnostics

Summary:
This role involves significant client engagement and relationship management with identified key accounts within your specified territory. The role is to manage the team selling the listed services to existing and sourcing new clients within the specified territory to meet targets set by your line manager. The role also incorporates specific task and finish projects as directed by your line manager. This element will involve significant engagement with the operations team to implement any associated projects to completion. Expectations are for the post holder to drive the sales of the portfolio of services and products and implement any associated projects.

Duties:

To increase sales revenue from the following services:
1. Cellular Pathology
2. Reference Laboratory

- To achieve agreed targets for all services listed in this job description within your given territory.
- Identify and develop new clients to the business
- Identify and develop external commercial partners to enable the enhancement of products and services.
- Use and maintain the company CRM system effectively so all activity and information is reported and logged centrally.
- To partake in exhibitions and conferences on behalf of the company and maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times.
- Achieve a high level of sales conversions from activities performed.
- To report on sales activities with your line manager to enhance performance.
- To lead task and finish projects to support the enhancement of service and associated sales in conjunction with the operation teams.
- To report project progress to your line manger to enhance product / service offering.
- To undertake detailed data analysis to support business developments, projects and sales activities
- To provide when request detailed written reports and data in relation to sales figure and associated project implementation plans.
- Attend all company sales meetings in Nottingham and have prepared a sales report on your activities for presentation once a month.
- Learn the services you will be responsible for and maintain a high competency of knowledge using the training available through the central commercial team based in Nottingham.
- Gather and report industry trends and knowledge back to your line manager for possible development of new products and services.
- Take part in all sales activities to the best of your ability.
- To comply with all quality control procedures to support maintenance of the Quality Management System.
- To comply with safe working practices in accordance with Company safety policies.
- To participate in the Annual Joint Staff Review process, in accordance with Company Policy.
- To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with grade and experience.
- Attend any training endeavours as appropriate to role or as reasonably requested by Line Manager.
