Field Service Engineer - Water Treatment, Water Analysis, Water Purification & Filtiration - service, repair, maintenance and fault finding.
An exciting new opportunity to join a successful technology provider working with a range of water analysis equipment across the North UK.
Purpose of Position
· The Field Service Engineer will provide customer service and support activities including calibration, servicing, commissioning and repair of instruments on customer sites.
· The Field Service Engineer must be prepared to travel extensively within the UK to provide on-site service support to our customers within the Power, Municipal Water, Life Sciences and Industrial Manufacturing businesses.
Key Service Responsibilities & Skills
· Carry out and have experience of Field Service work including commissioning, calibration, repair and routine maintenance on a wide variety of our customer sites but preferably within Power, Potable Water, Life Sciences & Industrial Markets.
· Experience of site procedures and working practices would be advantageous including accepting, suspending and clearing work permits.
· Experience of writing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
· Carry out in-house repairs and calibrations as required.
· To work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and all work undertaken to be carried out within the company Health & Safety guidelines.
· Must be able to work on own initiative to a high professional standard with minimal supervision
· Must be flexible in approach to overnight stays and working away from home.
· Keep and maintain spares inventory in company vehicle for non-contract use. Liaise with office staff to both ensure contract spares are taken to site for use on maintenance service visits and any noncontract spares used are fully invoiced when fitted on customer sites.
· Keep and maintain company equipment i.e. car, laptop, tools, PPE etc in good order..
· Ensure that Safety Passport, Clean Water Blue Card etc are kept up to date.
· Provision of telephone and email support in response to our customers technical queries.
Desired Background and Skill Requirements
· ONC/D or HNC/D in Electrical/Electronic engineering or Instrumentation of Control.
· Ideally 3 - 5 years successful experience as a service technician or 3 - 5 years' experience within an instrumentation/calibration role.
· Full, valid, clean driving licence and ability to travel extensively within the UK.
· Problem solving and diagnostic skills.
· Service mentality, customer focus.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Self-motivated and a flexible approach to working activities.
· Good computer skills - proficiency in Microsoft Office products
