Field Service Engineer – Microscopy & Imaging Instrumentation used in research, biotech and academic laboratories.
London – all sites within the M25
Principal responsibilities:
– Delivery of service targets, ensuring all appropriate actions are taken in order to maximise service performance
– Initiate corrective actions as and when required to minimise instances of poor customer service
– Build, develop and maintain long-term relationships with customer base, through the timely and successful delivery of resolutions to customers’ issues
– Ensure that all customer issues are resolved promptly through high quality technical knowledge
– Ensure that the progress and action plan for all customer cases are communicated effectively to relevant staff.
Experience required:
Scientific or engineering degree or qualification or subsequent experience
Experience servicing, repairing and installing high end medical or scientific equipment
Competence in Microsoft products, including M/S Office, OneNote & CRM
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, inc. optical, software, mechanical & electrical
Ability to apply commissioning & testing procedures in science applications
Ability to diagnose faults and recommend solutions over the telephone
Ability to plan, set up & install technical equipment
Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to build relationships
Full UK driving licence & confidence in city driving
