This would suit someone in the lab who is seeking to progress into a field service role. A leading scientific company is seeking a service engineer in the South to work across their range of analytical systems.

Field Service Engineer

Scope of role

Install, validate, maintain and repair analytical laboratory instrumentation across the South.
Within a reasonable distance of Swindon, Reading, Stevenage, London would be ideal.
This would initially be on HPLC, GC & GCMS systems as well as further training on their broader range of analytical systems in the longer team.
Ensure that all equipment preventative maintenance work in the defined region is scheduled and performed in a timely and efficient fashion and in keeping with customer expectations.
Manage the FSE car stock to correct levels for first time fix
Promote service contracts and instrument products in the region.
Support the area sales representative to generate leads for new business.
Answer customer queries, received by whatever means, in a timely and accurate manner.
The person:

Ideally you will have plenty of troubleshooting experience from your time within the lab on HPLC, GC, and GCMS or similar
Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent is preferred.
Based with good access to a major city or town in the region and happy to travel throughout the region
