We have an exciting opportunity with a well-established U K based independent mass spectrometer and chromatography service organisation as a field service engineer. They have very strong relationships with upmarket OEMS within the industry. You will be extensively trained on these unique instruments in house. They are culture focussed and they customise each contract to meet the needs of the individual customer

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- The Service Engineer will be responsible for the service, repair, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, and affiliated companies, in a stated geographical territory. Equipment covered would be LCMS systems and associated peripherals, Triple quad and QTrap experience essential on AB2000, AB3000, AB3200, AB 4000 instruments, ToF and "Blue line" instruments desirable. This would include travel to customer sites to deliver service, troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation in line with KRSS policies and procedures.
- To deliver routine planned maintenance and breakdown support at customer sites in line with their service plans
- To refurbish and validate equipment for the refurbished instrument program in line with their SOP's at our Runcorn facility
- To identify new customers or new market segments that could become their accounts.
- To build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers to allow continuation of business and win incremental business


Person Specification

- Experience within laboratory environments as a service engineer
- Ideally level 3 qualification or higher
- Good presentation, communication and inter-personal skills.
- Outgoing and confident and ability to work on your own and within the service team.
- A "keen to learn" approach and positive outlook
- Comfortable and confident telephone manner for supporting our customers remotely
