I am on the hunt for an ambitious individual to join an extremely reputable and well-established leader in the scientific space as a part of their field service team in the West Midlands!

Since inception in 1875, they have offered a multitude of products across a wide range of fields, encompassing analytical and measuring instruments, medical systems and equipment, aircraft equipment, and industrial equipment, as well as meticulous, responsive service.
Acknowledging the realities of an aging society and in response to greater expectations in the field of next-generation medical treatment, they are also conducting research and development in "molecular imaging technology" to enable detection of subtle symptoms before the onset of full-blown disease. This particular role will be heavily focussed on installing, validating, maintaining and repairing their Spectroscopy and TOC portfolio of analytical instrumentation across Gloucester, Bristol, Birmingham and Walsall - there will be little to none requirements for overnight stays due to such a defined territory and good coverage across the UK.


Role Overview

Long-term, this opportunity presents itself with a clear path to progress into management within the next 5 years and they are looking for someone who really likes to drive change and strive for nothing but the best. Following 7 weeks FULL OEM training in Germany, you will also be given on-going support throughout your journey and really feel like part of a team. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Cultivate strong relationships with customers in the defined region and deliver the quality of service and support that they don't expect ensuring that all aspects of their service is recognised to be "Best in Class".
Promote service contracts and instrument products in the region.
Support the area sales representative to generate leads for new business.
Answer customer queries, received by whatever means, in a timely and accurate manner.
Work closely with sales and support specialists to promote total customer satisfaction.
Contact customers by email and telephone to promote relevant and targeted promotional information.

This position directly impacts:
External customer image and satisfaction with the Shimadzu Analytical Instrument product range by providing installation, equipment validation services, routine maintenance, customer support and problem-solving services in a knowledgeable, professional, efficient and effective fashion.
Internal customer satisfaction by providing an effective interface with our sales team and by providing regional customer and service knowledge support during pre-sales activities (e.g. configuring customer demonstrations, requirements analysis) and post sales.
Internal customer satisfaction by providing effective communications with the Customer
Service team to ensure that customer expectations for service delivery are met and exceeded.


Person Specification

- Experience in UV / FTIR / TOC
- Experience with other Analytical Instrumentation Such as AA / ICP-OES / ICP-MS / EDX would be beneficial but not essential as it is anticipated that the candidate will in time be responsible for these product lines also.
- Background of Maintenance and Troubleshooting skills in previous positions.
- Worked as either Engineer or Analytical Background carrying out on site support
- Experience Working in GLP/GMP environment
- A current, clean UK driving license and passport
