A exciting position for a biomedical scientist with a strong background within infectious disease or autoimmunity to enter the commercial side of the diagnostics industry!

Position Summary
To facilitate the support infrastructure for an assigned business unit.
This is primarily a support role to the Sales and Marketing teams.
The Autoimmune and Infectious Disease Application Specialist (AID AS) will work in conjunction with the Application Manager and Marketing Manager to develop and enhance the functional role
of the Sales and Marketing team.
The role is primarily field based but will require time spent in the office as tasks require, under the direction of the Application Manager.

Key Accountabilities
-AID AS will coordinate and execute instrument delivery, installation, validation, verification and implementation.
- AID AS will deliver on site training programmes (local or Trust wide), ensuring the prepared program meets customer requirements and contractual demands.
-AID AS will organise and fulfil telephone calls and/or visits to end users to assist with troubleshooting, application support and complaint handling. This will be under the general direction of the Autoimmune and Infectious Disease Application Specialist Supervisor.
-AID AS will provide initial response to customer enquiries should an Area Account Manager be unavailable.
- AID AS must maintain an accurate agenda of activity within the Lotus Notes Calendar system, correctly linked to the customer SAP CRM record along with any customer correspondence sent.
- AID AS must update customer and equipment records within SAP CRM software following any activity they perform, or in the event they become aware of modified customer information.
- AID AS will communicate regularly with all divisional Area Account Managers, ensuring full information on activity within an Area Account Manager’s sales area is disclosed.
- As required, AID AS will assist Area Account Managers with the preparation and delivery of instrument and IT product demonstrations.
-In conjunction with the Application Manager, AID AS will review Werfen customer education strategy and will assist the Application Manager in developing required education packages, courses and training aids
-AID AS will organise and run all office based customer training.
-AID AS will test, plan and execute instrument software upgrades.
-AID AS should maintain availability of current software, and retain an archive of all analyser software and information.
- AID AS will enter all complaints onto Lotus Notes and SAP. AID AS will, as required, assist with additional data collection, monitoring and updating complaint records within Lotus Notes and SAP and communicate complaint investigation results to the complainant, in line with Werfen UK complaints procedure.
- AID AS will ensure relevant details such as serial numbers, software licenses, network and interfacing information are recorded in SAP CRM.
- AID AS will assist the Application Manager with the planning and preparation of User

Group meetings.
- AID AS will assist Application Manager and the Technical Services Manager in inducting and training new Autoimmune and Infectious Disease Application Specialists, Area Account Managers, Service Support Specialists and Field Service Engineers.
- AID AS will assist the Application Manager and Sales Coordinator with the preparation and execution of Product Information mail shots and E-Blasts. - AID AS should maintain accurate records of the location and condition of demonstration equipment, working with the Technical Services Manager to ensure instruments are adequately maintained.
-AID AS should attend and take a full active role in Business Unit Sales and Technical meetings when directed by the Application Manager.
-Under the direction of the Application Manager, AID AS will assist with the introduction of new products or services.
-By the 15th day of each month the AID AS will provide the appropriate Sales Coordinator with a monthly activity report, detailing:
- Sites visited by day
- By site, brief description of activity and any follow up required
- Indication of outstanding issues
- Brief review and update of assigned complaints
- Planned activity for the following month

International Mobility:
-Required: Unlikely

Travel requirements:
-As required within the UK to fulfil the role. Approximately 80 % of time

Minimum Skills & Capabilities:
-Excellent communication skills

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
-BSc or equivalent in Biomedical Science. A minimum of 5 years NHS laboratory experience, preferably in haematology/Autoimmune and Infectious Disease.
-A good working knowledge of laboratory equipment.
-Proficient computer skills, including Word,Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
-Knowledge of ISO 15189 standard
