Field Application Specialist - Liquid Handling Automation
We are currently seeking a Field Application Specialist to work with a market leader of the development, production and distribution of automated workflow solutions for laboratories in the life sciences sector. This role is covering a UK wide territory.
Objectives and scope of the job:
- Deliver high level of customer service
- Provide support for instruments and customers with consideration of economic criteria and contractual obligations
- Perform integration, build and support of projects
- Perform instrument installation, application set-up, trouble shooting, repairs and other service support activities as required
- Solve customer problems, ensure maximum availability and functionality of the instruments
- Perform customer training courses
- Perform software upgrades
- Perform helpdesk duties
Tasks/Activities:
- Perform, delegate and monitor the execution of service orders according to the criteria: shortest response time, minimum travel costs and set priorities
- Communicate and cooperate with the European Service Management, with other departments, with manufacturers and suppliers
- Escalate and resolve issues in connection with customer complaints, exceeding deadlines and other critical occurrences
- Participate in meetings, conferences, workshops and trainings
- Support sales representatives at their sales efforts, product demonstrations and trade shows
- Handle correspondence and other administrative work in connection with the job
- Support and perform quality assurance related activities
- Accept and/or initiate supporting tasks in other geographical areas as well as abroad
- Accept other tasks as directed
Responsibilities:
- Observe all and any company rules, regulations and processes
- Interact with customers, Sales and Field Automation Specialists to resolve problems, offer advice and provide solutions.
- Interacts with Operations and QC departments to provide assistance with instrument status from customers.

- Procure of all relevant information required to perform all prescribed duties.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to multitask.
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills.
- High level of commitment, initiative and dependability.
- Willingness to disseminate new information obtained to automation team members.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to interact effectively with groups inside and outside of the organisation and with customers.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
- Has and holds a valid driver's license.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including legible hand writing.
- Proven team player.
- Good command of written and oral English language.
