Role Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of leading innovator of biotechnology equipment who is looking for a European Service Specialist to join their team in Germany.

The European Service Specialist is responsible for performing on- site, in-house and remote service troubleshooting and repairs, conducting preventative maintenance activities, conducting instrument installation qualification and operational qualification, performing installation of new instruments, de and re-commission of existing instruments , as well as assisting in providing customers with technical support related to hardware and software use, and assisting with other support related administration and in-house service tasks as requested.

This role is suitable for someone with experience as an electrical engineer or someone based in a laboratory environment with experience troubleshooting and has a key interest in moving into a more hands on field based role.

Travel will approximately be 30-50% of the time and when you not out in the field you will be remote. Applicants must live within a commutable distance of any international airports in Germany.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

•  Perform a lead role in providing on-site, remote and in-house field service troubleshooting and repairs, which typically requires European travel on short notice
•  Conducting on-site Preventative Maintenance activities.
•  Performing de-installation and re-installation of existing instruments
•  Performing installation and operational qualification on instruments
•  Provide technical assistance to customers, sales and support team members by phone or e-mail regarding the use, and maintenance of instruments, and software. Provide necessary follow-up and support to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction.
•  Be responsible for in- house demo instruments and carry out tech checks and refurbishment of these systems as required
•  Seeks answers to questions from technical staff. Initiate problem reports and notify department managers.
•  Document activities involving customer interactions in Salesforce.
•  Develop and maintain a technical knowledge of new and existing products.
•  Assist with the technical service training of the field application scientists, sales consultants, and/or distribution partners.
•  Assist in the maintenance and update of support contract and asset databases.




Person Specification

•  Higher level education in natural sciences, electronic engineering, or other relevant discipline.
•  Previous experience troubleshooting equipment
•  Willingness to travel
•  Fluency in German and English language
•  Valid driver's license
