Electrical / Electronics Engineer- Infusion Pump Devices (used in intensive care and other hospital environments)- fault finding, repair, service & maintenance.

This Electrical/Electronics Engineer will provide technical support to manufacturing partners, work on continuous improvements and aid the introduction of new products with a focus on safety, quality, cost, delivery and people.
You will be working within a collaborative and high performing project team, predominately working on medical infusion pumps.
It is predominately office-based with up to 20% international travel.
Role responsibilities:
• Lead the review and update component and design documentation to facilitate manufacturing transfer.
• Assist with defining electro-mechanical sub assembly specification & test documentation taking account of general and health and safety regulation requirements.
• Execute value engineering / component transfer activities by the use of structured review methods and recognised improvement techniques.
• Support electronic assembly validation through testing and documentation
• Review and develop supplier proposals to support project objectives. Including the presentation of value engineering recommendations, project plans, schedules and status reports verbally and in presentations to the operations department.
• Provide engineering support to suppliers, purchasing, quality engineering and manufacturing, acting as subject matter expert in a range of subjects.
• Define, plan, action and report on validation & verification activities to support engineering change.
• Support the ongoing compliance with all regulatory and quality system requirements, including risk management procedures.
• Review and update manufacturing documentation.
Person specification:
- HNC/D or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Post qualification experience in either an R&D or manufacturing environment.
- Broad electronics background with a bias towards manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret electronic circuits to determine the suitability of alternative components and suggest design improvements.
- Experience working with manufacturers to develop, improve and transfer Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, wiring looms and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to communicate with all levels in the company verbally and through reports and presentations. Able to interpret data and present a business summary.
- Computer literate: Ability to use current computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and e-mail applications, as part of daily work.
