Covering the following locations: Birmingham, Bath, Bristol, Guildford, Leicester, Oxford, Reading, Swindon, Southampton

As the Distributor and Channel Manager EMEA you will support and develop the distributor network in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The ideal candidate would be an experienced molecular biologist coupled strong experience of selling life science kits and reagents for PCR. You would have a business development approach to identifying market opportunities, a good understanding of the sales processes and the personality to strengthen the company's existing excellent customer relationships. Applicants would ideally be based near the Oxford area, but other areas can be considered if you are willing to travel as this sales area covers a large geographical area. When pandemic circumstances allow overnight stays will be required on a routine basis with up to 50% international travel including full weeks away from home and occasional weekend work.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE:
To achieve the volume and profit objectives for a designated product portfolio, within a specified sales territory, with the aim of assisting the company achieve its overall sales and profitability targets, delivering year on year sales and profit growth.

SUMMARY OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
- To manage a core territory as determined by the BDM so that agreed sales and profitability targets are delivered.
- To attain annual sales to pre-defined sales targets within the territory by both growing the number of products sold to each customer and growing the number of customers.
- To pro-actively develop, monitor and manage customer accounts.
- To communicate market intelligence on customer needs and competitor activity.
- To own, manage, keep up to date and ensure all appropriate databases are accurate. This particularly includes the CRM system.
- To pro-actively network with customers and prospects at specialist meetings, forums, presentations etc.
- To attend exhibitions and demonstrations as required.
- To deliver territory based sales campaigns and achieve the planned new sales.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Educated to degree level - preferably molecular biology
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Empathetic and objective approach to customer and market needs and the ability to offer solutions to customer's problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - face to face - written - good telephone manner.
- Possess a current valid driving license.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Good understanding of molecular biology techniques - practical experience of working in a laboratory environment an advantage.
- Good PC application knowledge to include Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience in writing and maintaining formal documentation such as quotations, process documents an advantage.
- Experience in selling into academic, biotech and pharma accounts.
- Experience in key/major accounts management/development an advantage.
- Experience as a distributor manager an advantage.
