Covid Screening Scientist

The 'What' - the role

Reporting into Laboratory team leaders

Key responsibilities:

PCR screening
" Performing PCR screening for COVID-19 across the film and media industry, testing on location at film production studios and our main laboratory.
" Performing additional PCR based assays including respiratory panels, STI panels and more.
" Testing in mobile point of care units domestically and abroad.

General laboratory duties
" Cleaning and maintaining laboratory spaces, adhering to good laboratory practices.
" Sample receipt
" Other laboratory operational duties including maintaining and ordering stock, managing equipment

Any other reasonable duties as requested by the laboratory team leader

The 'Who': About you

" Relevant biomedical science degree BSc Hons
" BSL-2 experience
" PCR experience
" Experience working within a 15189/17025 accredited laboratory
" Experience with LIMS
" Super organised: used to juggling multiple projects with different priorities and working to short deadlines
" Strong attention to detail: our team rely on us to ensure projects run perfectly
" Tech savvy: confident using MS Office
" Have a growth mindsight: we're growing fast, and you'll be expected to offer ideas where processes can be improved and drive your own personal development
" Excellent verbal and written skills: you should be able to draft clear, concise communications, adapting tone & style as appropriate
