Position Summary
The Contracts Manager role is companywide reporting to the General Manager. The role involves supporting all aspects related to tenders and contracts.

Key Accountabilities:
The purpose of this position is to support all of the company's customer facing contracts from pre to post tender and through to contract end. Reporting to the General Manager, the role is primarily responsible for obtaining effective tender offers, negotiating, providing contractual documentation and ultimately ensuring the company wins tenders.
The successful person will also have responsibility for the monitoring and delivery once a contract has been put in place, when there the contract is an MES working with the Primaries and the 3rd parties against an agreed set of measures and then holding the supplier to those measures. They will also be required to manage change control throughout the life cycle of a contract, execute exit strategies where appropriate and ensure that the company meets its retention targets.

External customers: Predominantly the NHS in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland but also Private Companies as appropriate. In terms of Managed Services - Primaries but also as required 3rd party suppliers.
Internal Customers: Senior Leadership, Sales, Service, Quality, Finance departments and other commercial functions.
Responsible for tender management and processes, contract management and B2B activities.

Support the provision of realistic forecasts to facilitate business and financial planning and further develop "Bidding" utilisation for revenue and profit management.
Interdepartmental relations with each Business unit to help grow the overall sales and market share for the company's products. Alongside this maximising revenue, profit and company image through tenders, contracts and other new business opportunities.
Responsible for representing the company and its products in partnership with the Business units to customers and partners.
Maintain and develop current business while identifying new opportunities in accordance with business objectives. Pro-actively propose actions to the management team on how to maximise these opportunities.
Responsible for building relationships and maintain contacts with relevant MSC providers, third party suppliers and will develop where relevant other B2B relationships.
Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills along with knowledge of regulations applicable to the diagnostic industry.

To provide contract management expertise to the company and assist in development of sound commercial processes that meet corporate/business areas goals and metrics.
To use contract and finance structures in compliance with business objectives.
To use appropriate contractual templates and service levels for third party suppliers and where necessary draft contract documents.
To establish effective stakeholder management both internally and externally.
To support the Business Managers in tender bids
To be responsible for smaller managed services bids where appropriate and meet or exceed sales targets.
To be able to undertake and be successful in high level negotiation with both suppliers and customers.
To interact with Senior Management and present complex data in a simple way.
To manage performance and financial statistics for both the company and sub-contractors and investigate all opportunities to control and drive down costs, whilst pursing continual improvements in performance.

An understanding of the current Pathology market place, suppliers and NHS networks in the UK and Ireland
Experience in supplier management, high level negotiation, contract management and contractual change management within a healthcare setting
Experience in monitoring or reporting Key Performance Information in a Pathology setting
Ability to create negotiate and use sound contractual documentation
Strong presentation skills and ability to present to a variety of audiences
Sound financial analysis capabilities
Knowledge of managed services in a diagnostics environment
High level of Microsoft Excel knowledge and ability to use business management systems including Microsoft word, Power Point, Access, SharePoint and Oracle
Full clean UK driving licence
Flexibility to travel across the UK

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
BSc in Science or Business or related field. A minimum of 5 years business or related experience. Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and other corporate tools.

Travel requirements:
- As required within the UK to fulfil the role. Approximately 50 % of time
