Commercial Manager

Seeking an experienced Scientific Sales Representative or Specialist to join a leading Immunodiagnostics company covering a Northern UK territory. This role is field based and would suit somebody with experience in the in-vitro diagnostics industry.

The role includes sales, customer support, marketing and quality assurance.

Job Role Summary:
The Commercial Manager will report directly to the National Sales Manager and will work closely with both the Commercial and Systems teams
- To initiate contact with existing customers and provide a first point of contact for enquiries and excellent customer service
- To proactively pursue new business and sales opportunities within the territory

Main Duties:
- Manage current business and customer contact
- Research and pursue new business leads
- Provide first point of contact for sales and customer queries
- Work closely with National Sales Manager and Commercial Director to design and implement sales strategy
- Generate quotations including preparation of new quotes and renewing of current and expired quotes
- Use product knowledge to support and demonstrate product use in-field
- Represent the company at conferences and exhibitions
- Support preparation of tender and contract documentation
- To meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual targets

Minimum BSc (2:1) in biological sciences or relevant subject

Skills and Experience:
- Excellent communication skills both with colleagues and customers
- Ideally experience of selling to Pathology laboratories within the Public and Private Sector
- Proven track record of sales development and customer base expansion
- Use of successful business strategy
- Experience with CRM software
- Experience of presenting proposals to a range of customers
- Account management experience
- Experience of troubleshooting
- Experience of handling customer queries

- Immunoassay techniques (ELISA, Immunoblot, IIFT and PCR)
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Good understanding of the NHS
