Secondment Opportunity for a Molecular Clinical Sales Specialist, covering Northern England (12 months from May 2019)

The Role
Due to Maternity cover, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to gain experience as a Clinical Sales Specialist in the Molecular Solutions sales team for one year. As UK market leader in Molecular Diagnostics and Tissue Diagnostics and over 25 years' experience in PCR testing technology, our company plays a vital role in the diagnosis and ongoing treatment and monitoring of a wide range of diseases. Having recently launched the next generation of testing solutions, this is an opportune time to join the team.

Scope of the role
Reporting to the Senior Market Manager (UK & Ireland) your main objective is to devise and convey scientifically the superior clinical value for our specific assays in the field of virology, women's health and oncology, in close alignment with our clinical product management's strategy set by our Market Managers.

As the adoption of molecular testing technology increases, there is a need to help translate and explain how molecular diagnostics technologies can transform clinical care. To do this, you will work with laboratories, pathologists, medical directors, and laboratory based clinicians to help them understand how to optimally implement molecular laboratory test results within their clinics.

Working closely with Account Managers across the board, you will incorporate a commercial spirit to win new accounts, and grow existing accounts, via strategic and tactical sales activities. You will support the Territory Account Managers through timely input into territory business plans, attending customer visits, owning the content and delivery of impactful clinical value presentations. You will provide regular reports on status of specific sales, potential market opportunities, market conditions, and competitor activities.

This is a field based sales position and you will be expected to live on territory or willing to relocate on territory. Occasionally this position will require you to travel across the UK and visit our UK headquarters in Sussex.

Who are we looking for?
You will hold a PhD or an appropriate degree in the field of medical / molecular biology and be scientifically credible in your field of expertise. You will understand best practices within molecular diagnostics and how to leverage clinical value in this market. With a good understanding of the patient impact for clinical value markers, you will understand how to influence clinical solutions in complex solution fields, in secondary care, to reach sales objectives. Specific understanding of speciality areas such as women's health, infectious disease or oncology would be a plus.

In order to be effective in this role you will need to be resilient, tenacious and both adaptable and flexible to work cross functionally within a changing environment. You will understand barriers to acceptance of new solutions and be able to drive positive sales outcomes as part of a commercial team.

Self-motivated, focused and methodical, with the ability to work alone, yet readily communicate and share knowledge within the sales and marketing teams, you will have the ability to sell with high credibility and be able to turn strategy into actionable implementation.

Key requirements:
- Understanding of Diagnostics (Molecular Diagnostics, Pathology, Virology, Immunology, Sexual Health Services, Oncology or Infectious Diseases)
- Account management and/or sales track record highly desired
