JOB PURPOSE
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will:
Act as a source of specialist advice for healthcare professionals, carers and individuals with bladder/bowel needs.
Deliver best practice care in relation to bladder/bowel needs within a clinic/hospital/residential environment.
Deliver specialist training and education to the clinical workforce within care homes.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist role is a field based position.
MAIN DUTIES
Assess, plan and implement strategies for the management of bladder/bowel problems.
Effectively liaise with healthcare professionals, carers and relatives promoting best practice in continence care and infection prevention.
Be proficient in holistic assessment and implement medical devices or aids appropriately.
Maintain and share up to date knowledge through the delivery of education and training and Appliance Use Reviews.
Maintain clinical records in accordance with NMC guidance on record keeping.
Work in partnership with territory managers building relationships with key stakeholders.
Support the launch of new products to the portfolio and local prescribing guidelines.
Maintain adherence to local prescribing guidelines and convert to Clinisupplies products appropriately.
Support clinical evaluations locally, analyse data and produce reports in a timely manner.
Gain user feedback/ perceptions and assist in the ongoing program of continuous product research and development.
Work with the marketing team identifying key opinion leaders and new business opportunities.
Attend national/regional sales meetings as required.
Provide monthly reports on activity relating to KPIs and attend regular meetings with line manager.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Registered Nurse with active PIN.
Relevant clinical experience of working in continence care or urology, urogynaecology.
Recent teaching/clinical skills training experience.
Demonstrate a high level of clinical competence for the care needs of individuals with bladder/bowel problems.
Be able to provide specialist advice and support healthcare professionals, patients and their carers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Motivated, reliable and committed to team working.
Able to manage caseload and work autonomously.
High energy, ambitious and driven to succeed.
Ability to be flexible in approach to working.
