A new and exciting opportunity has come up as a business development manager covering the UK and Ireland for a leading IVD company.

Location: Field Based (UK and Ireland)
PRODUCTS: Clinical Diagnostic instrumentation
CUSTOMERS: NHS and private clinical laboratories

Responsible for:
1. Defining UK and Ireland market and target accounts for key strategic commercial focus and execution
2. Interaction with sales team to manage prospecting for target accounts.
3. Interaction with product management team for progression of evaluations.
4. Promotional activities to increase market awareness.
5. Key account management relating to business growth with accounts & partners

Job Purpose:
- Working in conjunction with all commercial stakeholders and jointly accountable for growing the overall sales and market share for the commercial focus growth products and instruments in UK and Ireland.
- Responsible for building relationships and maintaining contacts with relevant customers including procurement and managed service providers.
- Responsible for building and maintaining working relationships with key accounts both customer and commercial partners to maximise the benefits of the joint collaboration for all stakeholders.
- Supports successful completion of relevant tender responses and management of business contracts with stakeholders.

Principal accountabilities:

1. Day to day management of commercial growth focus areas by relationships and expansion of profitable business via the direct sales. Develop UK and Irish market with commercial growth focus products.
2. Planned sales and marketing activities.
3. Key Account & Partner Management
4. To represent the company and its products to customers and partners.
5. Communicate and inform within the organisation to highlight business opportunities and pro-actively propose actions to maximise business opportunities.
6. Provide commercial stakeholders with pertinent market intelligence to be integrated into business planning.

Person Specification:

- At least 5 years' experience within the diagnostic industry.
- Degree (or equivalent) level education in a related science/Marketing subject.
- Knowledge of regulations applicable to the diagnostic industry.
- High level of understanding of business dynamics in the UK and Ireland, in the IVD sector.
- A strong communicator with outstanding presentation skills
- Good knowledge of procurement processes.
- Driving license.
