Zenopa Raises £420 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Here at Zenopa we have taken part in many charity events in support of Macmillan Cancer, several of which we have done blogs for in the past. This time last year we took part in a Macmillan Cancer coffee morning, with a number of Zenopians kindly baking treats to bring in and share ranging from lemon drizzle to Victoria sponge to cookies. The generosity of our team raised a total of £110, which Zenopa matched to make £220.

This year we wanted to do something a little different to spark new excitement and hopefully raise a larger sum. Instead of asking individuals to bring in their own cakes, we decided to give the day a waffle theme where people could gather to eat waffles and waffle about their week.

The day started with a morning zoom where everyone had one minute to draw a waffle wearing a chef hat, with the chance to win a free waffle for the best artist. Congratulations to Seb in our Healthcare Communications team for winning!

Our willing Zenopians paid £5 for a waffle made fresh and hot on site later that day, with a range of delicious toppings to add including ice cream, fresh fruit and chocolate. Much to our delight the waffles went down a storm and uptake was incredible! It was great to see the level of engagement and participation for such a great cause.

We managed to have an uptake of £84% with some kindly donating in excess of the £5 waffle price. The total raised by Zenopians was £210, almost double what we raised last year. Zenopa matched this contribution- bringing the combined total to an amazing £420!
