
A Royal opening at Beaconsfield High School
Beaconsfield High School raised £53,216 through their inspiring science campaign where school parents, friends and businesses could purchase an element from the periodic table. The fantastic amount of money contributed towards the schools new advances science laboratories, designed to replicate university labs and engage young women to consider a career within STEM Fields.
The new laboratories where opened at the beginning of May this year by Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Kent and also marked the schools 50th anniversary celebrations.

The three new labs offer the latest equipment and study facilities for all the science topics (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) with a dedicated Lab for A –level studies, designed with curved working stations all facing into a central teaching station to encourage interactive learning.
“It was great to be given the opportunity to come and see the new laboratories at the school’ comments Managing Director Mark Denton “the new facilities have come on a long way since I was at school and they will provide engaging, and interactive learning for both current and future students.”

As well as the grand unveiling, the Duchess and guests were treated to musical performances from the three senior school choirs, the senior strings and a solo cello performance, adding a great sense of occasion to proceedings.
