How do you want to be enlightened? or Tom Cruise engages Tech PR talent

This blog is not an opinion, as such, it's a question. One that is basically asking you to help me to help you. I want the truth.

Tech PR is one of the few sectors growing faster than Netflix's profits and the agencies are facing the challenge of attracting the right talent to their business. The good news for you is that positive steps are being made to ensure realistic expectations are met, whilst highlighting their unique career differentiators, outside of money (more very exciting information will be coming at a later date about that). I think the money’s what’s throwing you off here today.

Believe it or not it takes a lot of time for me to get to know a tech PR agency/division. A lot of questions asked to find out what they can really offer that will take your career in the direction you want it to go. Questions so I can advise you correctly. Aren’t I good to you? What do you mean, none of my business? It is my business. Look at my nose! (Google my name on images if you don’t believe me. It’s my father’s fault).

So, the question I’m taking far too long to get to is this: How do you want me to let you know when I think I’ve got a career enhancing, skill developing, experience augmenting, cerebrally stimulating and self-enlightening opportunity?

You get blasted by emails, LinkedIn messages and tweets on a regular basis, all declaring that this is job opportunity to seriously consider - but they don’t tell you anything different. I can. I will show you that no dream is ever just a dream but I need you to tell me how you prefer to be alerted to that dream. Maybe it’s not your ideal but then I may know of another tech PR agency that is offering your perfect pursuit. Conversation is a good thing but you’ve been bludgeoned into a corner by a barrage of boundless blah and are now numb to the memo.

I’ve been guilty of it. In my passion to represent what I believe to be a phenomenal gig, I’ve spread the word too far and diluted something great into something vapid. All because I’m shouting loudly alongside those who don’t even specialise in Tech PR agency recruitment. Well, no more will anyone tell me, seriously, a nutless monkey can do your job. You cats now have the chance to let me know how you want to know. Times have changed and I’m changing with them. Talk to me, Goose.

There will soon be another Zenopa website but this one will be taking the Tech PR section off our main site and dedicating it to you glorious tech PR employees. It’s not sexy but it’s got teeth. You damn well deserve it.

I deal in human fulfilment. I need you to communicate your desired medium of communication, or at least tell me what pokes your passivity. I’ll even put pen to paper and write you a letter if that’s what you want.

You can email me: faizaan@zenopa.com, call me: 01492 818 022, LinkIn with me: http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/faizaan-sackett/22/790/305/ or you can even tweet me: @fezenopa.

The bar is open! The floor is yours. Over and out.

Oh, I guess I should explain the title. There are 10 quotes from Tom Cruise movies hidden in the above. Those who identify all 10 (you must work for a tech PR agency/division) and send me the quotes, along with the name of the movies they come from and your opinion on how to be contacted with career options, will be entered into a hat for a £20 Amazon gift voucher. The winner will be announced on Monday 4th August.
