Primarily working from a home location, this company are searching for a Head of Sales with 3+ years of sales team management in a Molecular Diagnostics and/or Genomics environment.

REPORTS TO: Sales Director

This is a home based role, however, the ideal candidate will be based in the South East.

This role involves significant client engagement and relationship management with identified accounts within your territory. The role is to sell the listed services to existing and sourcing new clients within the specified territory to meet targets set by your Commercial Director. Expectations are for the post holder to drive the sales of the company's portfolio of services and products.

- Manage team of 4 sales people
- Manage key customer relationships
-To increase sales revenue from the following services:

1. Contract Research Projects
2. NGS Projects
3. Sanger Sequencing
4. Human Tissue/Clinical Trial Projects

- A strong understanding of the molecular diagnostics and genomics market in UK and Europe
- Significant experience selling molecular products and/or services into Research and Development departments and Clinical labs, selling to clinical and non-clinical laboratories running NGS based laboratory developed tests in areas such as Oncology, inherited disease and infectious disease.
- Experience in managing accounts across UK and Europe. Developing strategic account plans to increase sales revenue and achieve gross margin targets for all assigned key accounts and territories. Lead discussions to maximise the current and future potential of services provided by the company in order to maintain a growing market share and revenues.
- Important to work across other commercial, operational and technical teams to deliver high quality service to all clients.
- Be at the forefront of commercial and technical discussions to meet new and existing market service needs.
- To lead a designated team to sell the portfolio of BioPharma Services offered by the company by utilising your own network of contacts and including those supplied by us.
- Manage activity in order to build on an existing pipeline and increase the company's market share.
- To Work with the Technical team to enable the BioPharma division to meet all Client requirements.
- Achieve a high level of sales conversions from activities performed.
- To report on sales activities with your line manager to enhance performance.
- Manage and increase revenue from a Sanger Sequencing team.
- Use and maintain the company CRM system effectively so all activity and information are reported and logged centrally.
- To partake in exhibitions and conferences on behalf of the company and maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times.
- Work with the marketing team to increase awareness of the company's BioPharma services across all therapeutic areas.
- Attend all company sales meetings in Nottingham and have prepared a sales report on your activities for presentation once a month.
- Learn the services you will be responsible for and maintain a high competency of knowledge using the training available through the central commercial team based in Nottingham.
- Gather and report industry trends and knowledge back to your line manager for possible development of new services.
- To comply with all quality control procedures to support maintenance of the company's Quality Management System.
- To comply with safe working practices in accordance with Company safety policies.
- To participate in the Annual Joint Staff Review process, in accordance with Company Policy.
- To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with grade and experience.
- Attend any training endeavours as appropriate to role or as reasonably requested by Line Manager.


1. Individually and managing the sales team to target senior level decision makers (Director-level and executive level) within the R&D, Commercial and Operations functions where required and present the company's products and capabilities to drive strong sales growth, and strong long-term business relationships within key accounts.

2. Play a pivotal role in advancing the companies knowledge of the changing molecular diagnostics and BioPharma markets, by leveraging an understanding of the diagnostics testing and genomics markets

3. Build a comprehensive business strategy and travel plan to include all elements necessary to meet or exceed all goals for sales growth, profitability and customer satisfaction in the assigned key accounts.
