Exciting Opportunity for a PhD Educated Scientist looking to kickstart their commercial career!

The company are seeking PhD educated scientists in either a life science or analytical chemistry discipline, any additional experience within electrophoresis is preferred but not essential!

The Applications Scientist will assist in the development, validation and documentation of novel capillary electrophoresis chemical tests and associated software controls. The role will involve working in a small team on a variety of tasks supporting the R&D and Software departments answering to the R&D Manager (CE). This vacancy is permanent, full time Monday to Friday (daytime hours) and based primarily based at the company's Gateshead Site - No previous experience working as an application specialist is required and full training will be provided!

Responsibilities:
· Assisting in the development and testing of cutting edge clinical analysers including instrumentation, chemical kits and software
· Assisting in researching, developing and testing of new assays for the V8 analyser
· Aiding in the development and testing of user software.
· Keeping technical files up-to-date to assist in product registration and FDA submissions.
· Creating and supporting novel analytical methods based primarily around Capillary Electrophoresis (CE).

What we are looking for:
· Some relevant analytical laboratory experience (capillary electrophoresis preferred)
· Experience in mathematical and statistical techniques
· Educated to post graduate level
· Ability to work without supervision
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks efficiently
· The candidate will be a creative and intellectually curious scientist capable of engaging with complex projects.
· The candidate must be comfortable working unsupervised but can collaborate with a multi-site, multi-disciplinary team. Clarity of communication, both written and verbal, is required.
· Educated to PhD level in life sciences or analytical chemistry
· Experience of capillary electrophoresis desirable but not required
