Accounts Payable Assistant
As Accounts Payable Assistant you will process and pay supplier invoices and employee expenses utilising the Accounts Payable accounting function to ensure that company records are complete and SOX compliant.
Responsibilities will include;
- Processing and payment of employee expenses using in-house system.
- Input and coding of supplier invoices and credit notes.
- Matching of AP invoices to purchase orders.
- Preparation of payment reports in all currencies.
- Provide team cover for BACS and CHAPS payments.
- Liaison with internal customers regarding approval of invoices.
- Reconciliation of Vendor statements.
- Reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
- Regular review of aged creditor reports and investigation and resolution of credit
balances.
- Preparation and submission of CIS returns.
- Ensure all AP process and procedures are compliant with SOX and group policies.
- Answering internal and external queries by telephone and email.
- Assisting internal customers with invoice/PO queries.
A training and development plan will be designed for you; this may include external run training as required for the role.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an accounts, administration, support or similar role.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable experience, within a shared service environment would
be an advantage.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Office and Excel.
- Experience of using Latis or JD Edwards would be an advantage although full training
will be provided.
- A sound understanding of financial processing.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, with the versatility to
communicate at all levels to both internal and external customers.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to
deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An impeccable eye for detail.
- Driven and self-motivated.
